Venezuelans have woken up to find their tap water running black in the latest crisis to hit the beleaguered South American nation.

Residents in San Diego, Carabobo state, flooded social media with pictures and videos of the black water while complaining it had been contaminated with oil.

The city has suffered with an intermittent water supply for months, made worse by a week-long power blackout that has completely cut it off in some areas, local journalists said.
...

Some said that the water had been contaminated with crude oil, which Venezuela has in plentiful supply, and which President Maduro has been accused of wasting.
...

Now Venezuela's water turns BLACK: Horrified residents wake up to find their taps 'running with oil' after week-long power blackout heavily restricted the supply

There are more photos and videos at the link showing petroleum coming out of sinks instead of tap water. Also there are videos showing a lot of Venezuelans in the region having to get water from the sewers because they have no other access to water.

The situation in Venezuela is getting worse, and like always Maduro and his socialist dictatorship is claiming that the U.S. is causing this when Maduro and his dictatorship have total control over all infrastructure in Venezuela.

There is already rationing of electricity, apart from frequent blackouts, despite the fact that Venezuela has plenty of oil and other resources to produce more than enough electricity.

It is the "rationing" implemented under socialism and to combat climate change, plus the corruption under a socialist regime which fired experts to put in charge of the infrastructure Chavistas who don't have the knowledge to properly provide for the basic necessities of the Venezuelan people.

This will only get worse and worse, and like always Maduro, the Chavistas and other left-wing/socialists who live in capitalist nations will put the blame on "capitalism and the U.S." when the socialist dictatorship is responsible for all of the problems occurring in Venezuela.

My heart just sinks for the Venezuelan people. How long can they go without water? Three days? I hate to go to the military solution, but I see no other way if we are going to provide food and water.

It may be cruel, but I don't see a bunch of Venezuelans coming to save me of I have poisons flowing from my public utility water company spigot.

I think they just gotta handle this on their own, and hopefully sooner, rather than later!

Who do you suggest go to fight this war? Are you volunteering to fight or to pay for the costs? If the socialist scum bags hadn’t disarmed their citizens this wouldn’t even be an issue.

Who would they shoot to get oil free water?

Who do Americans shoot when their water is contaminated?

Another move by the horrible united states to dismantle the socialist utopia that is venezuela.

I'm sure the taps in the palace and those well stocked supermarkets in the "chosen" enclaves are spewing out nice clean water.

At least most people can pay their "capitalist dues," meanwhile most people under socialism or communism can't...

If this is some kind of government -Maduro trick for revenge, it certainly is a "crude" effort 😦

Well yeah, but now it's contaminated with municipal tap water! (one of the worst of the known waters of the world...*nods sagely*)

Don't authoritarian governments tend to just murder everybody when things aren't working out?

Except that it doesn't cost me anything to believe it. Or not. I pretty much just don't care.
