Now. Let us return to the original point of the OP, concerning national debt. Yes the total debt of the government has increased, however that factoid is devoid of any real analysis.
The question that should push towards is, who owns that debt, and how does that compare to the global trend of debt. The answers to those questions give a more important context than saying 50% of a number people can not fully comprehend increased. If you want to put this in perspective, the majority of this new debt is owned by Americans, unlike in the past where it was owned by foreign entities. This leads directly into the second portion, of how this compares to foreign entities.

blogs.imf.org...
This shows that worldwide debt is increasing drastically, and in spite of this huge amount of debt, it is lower as a % of GDP than many other developed countries, and is expanding at a lower rate than other developed countries.

www.scmp.com...
Another interesting point is that in spite of having a trade deficit with China that is burgeoning, the overall ability of China to export has dramatically decreased (approx 17% and show no trend of changing). This is the same with other trade groups such as the Eurozone. Their economies are all showing signs of slowing while increasing debt, while the US economy is chugging along and showing growth in areas that in the past were said to never possibly come back.

I would say that those indicators show that Trump is having a positive impact on the US economy, and debt, that has yet to hit it's crescendo as it will take time for these changes to have an appreciable effect.

I have to say it finally. Trump is a total effing liar. He has manipulated facts and figures over job market- more like nothing but sales and advertizing jobs.

The economy is 4+ trillion in more debt in 2+ years. The American people are being opposed by his lack of the economical superbubble popping.

The Chinese should just dump Trump as a stock share.
The guy is nothing but glitz and glamour with buffs future giving the world the Nixon Finger.

Ah yes, when playing 4d chess more is less, war is peace etc.

This is clearly liberal propaganda with fudged numbers and CNN talking points, you hack...

So instead of decreasing it, in terms of numbers when Obama started, he managed to still increase it, based on Obama's numbers, to 250% so far?

But 4d Chess was supposed to decrease it so it would be 100% or so since Obama took over.

So big lose in any case, right? Math and stuff

Wouldn't it be better if it was down by 50%, so that we would go down from the 200% Obaba left to a nice 150% in the context of when Obama started?

Increasing it beyond that is not what i would call a nice and happy thing to do

They use Panasonic technology because they have patents... like every other product on this planet. But what do you think happens in the gigafactory? They manufacture batteries and battery technologies, cars are more of a side gig to be honest.

Trusting Donald Trump on economics is like trusting McDonald's on healthy food.

Do you know he's actually one of the richest men in the world?

Lol, figures.

He is?

Wasn't he like in the 4 billion dollar range?

While Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos and others were in the 40/70+ billion dollars range?

I remember Jeff Bezos lost more than Donald' Trump's entire worth in one single day, and he did not even bother to comment about it

I think you are looking at this in the wrong way

ETA: Jeff Bezos lost almost 10 billion in one day, while the entire Trump's net worth is about 5 billion at most, from what he has said so far

lol

Oh bummer

If what you appreciate or the criteria you use to lookup to other people is "how much rich they are" then you going to be very very sad real soon. Facts are facts

FFS, is he richer than you and oh about 99.9% of the rest of the world's population? I think that would make him "one of the richest men in the world" by any measure. Unless of course you suffer from chronic TDS.

So, what exactly do you expect will happen "if" a Democrat wins the presidency in 2020? You think that a Democrat president will improve the national debt? With nearly every Democratic candidate supporting Socialism and the "Green New Deal" economic stimulus program, this country's debt will soar like it never has before, making the current debt look like peanuts.

No, I don't expect ANY future President to eliminate the national debt, much less do it in 8 years. However, it would be refreshing to have a President who won't look me in the eyes and tell me that the National debt is the lowest it's ever been, due to his leadership, when it's not been reduced a single penny.

Not saying that Trump has made that proclamation yet, but give it time. It will happen. And when it does, he will say any glaring facts against said statement are fake news.

Complete madness? LMAO. I think you should look at the current affairs going on in your country, before writing such tripe on America.

Oh it's getting crazy here too, and it's about to get worse (elections are going to be brutal) but anyone I know that conducts business in the states wont travel there anymore, they're taking the loss and not looking back.

You meant the ones where once he was told his promise to remove 19 trillion in debt was a laughable hoax, he softened his rhetoric a bit? But that doesn't matter - he claimed he could reduce debt. Reduce as in lower. Not reduce as in increase greatly.

Obvious he hasn't kept this promise, or is even remotely on track to put a slight dent in it. But his defenders will defend anyway, making excuses much the same way Trump himself does. He does teach his sheep valuable lessons in misdirection and lying! : )

And Bezos is the richest man on the planet and Musk is launching space ships on a monthly basis.

Will he be after the divorce? And Musk is also being subsidized by the government.

What has Trump done? Let's see, divide the USA

Nah, you perceive it as him, while ignoring #resist. They want to be divided.

filed for bankruptcy four times

He hasn't personally. You really should research how many people have had businesses file for bankruptcy.

had to jack up rental prices in NYC to survive

NYC is full of jacked up taxes and prices. He wasn't the only one to do this.

sell out his family name to make money

It's called Branding. Like Versace.

became a shotty reality TV host to keep his name relevant

Relevant? It was a highly successful show, and like any entrepreneur, he saw a trend (reality tv) and jumped on it.

beg on his knees to dictators to 'stop bad things',

He's a lot closer to ending the Korean war than anyone else before him. You must be one of those people that want it to continue just to spite Trump. Childish.

go off on rants about nothing. Comparing trump to those guys is like comparing a little league line backer to the star quarterback of the College football league.

90% negative news coverage is not nothing. Calling out Lisa Page for testifying that Obama told the FBI/DOJ to back off of prosecuting Hillary is not nothing.

And I guess you didn't watch the news today, about just how many Amazon employees try to commit suicide on the job. Yeah, real star quarterback material. Let me know if you dig up any similar stories involving Trump.
