Makes sense.
Di Blasio is meatless.

That sounds like an awesome plan, huh? Start the week off right with inadequate nutrition so you finish off exhausted. I guess it's not as if public schools serve the highest quality meat anyway.

Or fasting fridays.
What are they going to do with all that land when they clear the farmers and cattle off? More Wildlands being zoned?

If "Meatless Monday" were called "Fasting Friday" I doubt it would get support from the same groups.

AOC, a socialist, literally suggested we eat less meat. She would probably mandate it.

C'mon now.

Yes it’s true, this man has no meat.

In future news, city truant officers are baffled by Mondays being their busiest day of the week when it used to be Fridays.

Agriculture produces one third of our greenhouse gases.

The global food system, from fertilizer manufacture to food storage and packaging, is responsible for up to one-third of all human-caused greenhouse-gas emissions, according to the latest figures from the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), a partnership of 15 research centres around the world.

Vegans are causing climate change

Stop feeding the children! It's destroying the planet!

The complete lack of science and total disregard for truth where politics is concerned is breathtaking at times. Not serving meat will do nothing at all to lessen greenhouse emissions. It's just pandering to the animal rights activists for their votes by making meaningless gestures.

You do realise that the human diet is that of a frugivour? There is only one thing that we cant get from plants and thats B12 and that can be gained from insects. The human body was never designed for eating meat long term as meat has a detrimental effect on the body.

The irony.

We stop eating animals, where will all those accumulated farts(methane) go?

And yet, your body needs protein to function.

Your point being? Are you saying that seeds legumes vegetables nuts and fruit provide no protein?

Ah, no.
We are meant to be the omnivores we are.
I don't care that people choose to be vegans. That is their choice.
But it is unnatural to "force" it on anyone.

Glad I don't live in NY.

I think the topic went over your head here. It's not really about who is Vegan or whether we need meat.

Do you think meatless Mondays will reduce CO2 emissions? The answer is of course no, it won't. The growing of vegetables and fruits produce a larger share of that.

Vegans are a tiny, tiny percentage of us and to be honest nobody cares if people want to be Vegans. It's only when Vegans try to force their diet on others with false claims it becomes a problem.

Another issue here is the government taking over so much control of our lives, they start to decide for us what we may or may not eat, or what our children are allowed to eat, just to placate a handful of animal rights fanatics.

The reality is we evolved as hunter gatherers. Our natural diet includes meat and mostly meat when it is the wrong season. Being a Vegan means eating an unnatural diet.

I'm old enough to remember when the scientific community of activists literally hid from the world their studies showed not only do Bonobo's eat meat, they prefer it when they can get it. Baboons eat meat and prefer it when they can get it. That is what is natural and what we evolved to eat.

Our ability to eat most any diet is why we became the dominant species in the first place. Were we frugivore's, we would not have been able to survive except in a very limited environment.

How much do you fart after you've eaten beans? Do you believe your ass gas doesn't contain methane? Now multiply your flatulence by 7 billion and tell me this... what does your global climate change hoax plan to do about the increase in human derived methane once all those humans are eating more methane producing beans and legumes versus the much lower gaseous meat diet many of us subsist on?

Mayor Bill de Blasio announced this week that all New York City public schools will have Meatless Mondays — meaning that cafeterias would serve only vegetarian meals on the first day of the week — starting this fall. De Blasio debuted the news by proudly digging into a grilled cheese and a pile of baked beans at PS 130 in Kensington, one of the 15 Brooklyn schools that participated in a Meatless Monday pilot program

What a crock of horse manure! They moved the regular Wednesday lunch to Monday and are now fooling their stupid constituents into thinking that they are actually making a difference.

.... guess what Cheese Pizza fridays is also meatless.

What's next are they going to rebrand "Taco Tuesday" as some kinda immigrant outreach program?
