According to Adam Schiff, Bob Mueller had/has the authority to subpoena President Trump to appear in person.

Is Schiff incorrect?

Sure, Mueller could issue a subpoena for a grand jury hearing.

But other than political theater, it would be useless because all he would do is show up and say, "On the advice of my attorneys, I am exercising my fifth amendment rights given to all people regardless of guilt or innocence to not answer questions when the answers may be used or misrepresented to give an impression, whether true or falsely, of wrong-doing."

And then Mueller, the GJ, probably a judge, and the President would have wasted their mornings for a stunt. That's why he would never be called, and that's why he never met Mueller. The lawyers had the leverage to negotiate conditions for an in-person meeting or answering questions in writing in the first place, because Mueller's other option was dead silence.I

Schiff wants him to take the stand in front of a grand jury so that he says something stupid or has to take the fifth. Prosecutors generally have better things to do with their time than subpoena an uncooperative witness whose attorneys have made a written statement of his intention to exercise the fifth. Federal guidelines go so far as suggest not wasting everyone's time, but it's not a rule or law set in stone, so it's certainly possible.

Thank-you for the detailed response to my question, RadioRobert. I wonder if Mueller initiated a "friendly" request for President Trump to come have a little visit?

Mueller/Rosenstein/Trump met for 4 hours on the day before Mueller was appointed Special Counsel. They could have a reunion of sorts.

So thoughts are lies? Wow, that actually makes sense... that means everyone is a liar except Democrats!

That's exactly what the Democrats are claiming...

Apparently Pelosi ruled out impeachment of Trump earlier. According to her, 'hes not worth it'. Translation: Muller found nothing, so we have to act like its not worth pursuing.

Politics is the greatest "show" on earth. For centuries politicians or royalty have used pomp and circumstance to promote what they want. Modern times it was the TV. There used to be 3 main channels. That was it or a newspaper to get your info. It was very easy to separate and compartmentalize a nation.

Sorry, but Trump is a showman. He knows about what to show, hide or discuss. A businessman not a politician. He never attacks but when attacked will respond. Like a good businessman.

This investigation has only shown how corrupt the current state of politics was and many people can just not handle it especially the media. The curtain that we all knew was there has been pulled back and is ugly.

No matter what those elected say. No matter what the media heads say. The same people who elected Trump in 2016 will vote again in 2020. The media may say different but it will be all the same people and his win this time will be larger.

Once he is not worried about re-election those who tried to f him are f'd themselves.

Without question, with all the allegations, Donald Trump should be interviewed. This way, Donald can clear his name.

You're assuming that Bob Mueller is a stand-up guy. That he wouldn't have a "perjury trap" set for the President.

in other words Schiff wants to deny POTUS Trump the right to a lawyer, and instead wants to entrap him...

Schiff is an ahole, and the true corrupt person here. Mueller has done enough damage, but to claim that Mueller must question POTUS Trump without a lawyer...

Good, and honest people have been sent to jail for not having a lawyer present... That's what Schiff, and other demonrats want to rely on...

WRONG... There is a reason why even INNOCENT people are told to have a lawyer present...

You forget something, or state just something a bit different than you have stated in the past and jail time it is "for lying" even when you didn't lie...

BTW, one more thing. Even when it was done in writing Mueller did already interview POTUS Trump.

Comey didn't even ask for a written statement from Hillary(and lawyer), on questions about the servers and how she allowed people who didn't have a clearance to read and access classified info, when Comey decided to claim she was innocent...

Hell, he is a parasite on this great nation and its bold Constitution

He is an affront to the very notion of justice

He is a repulsive, bitter, vindictive and truly worthless human being (by definition only). He is a petty liar, who has been discredited through his matter-of-fact assertions and continued parading of his opinion as fact even when most mainstream Dems have dropped the obviously false & entirely debunked "Russia" nonsense

Further, the obstruction of justice nonsense is a cop out. He couldn't obstruct anything when there was no crime to begin with AND his actions were merely his asserting his Constitutional rights and authorities as POTUS

Can't wait to see all these discredited leftists who staked their entire careers/reputations on "collusion" ruined, on the street and living in shame/ridicule. I would prefer a 2x2 cell for them, but at least this way we can still throw peanuts at them while they wallow in their own disgrace.

Not withstanding are moderate Dems, who are between a rock and a hard place. Nothing but respect for Bill Clinton Dems who are genuine "liberals" stuck in a party being subverted by socialists and other lower forms of life.

Or when she (somehow) was notified in advance of the Search warrant for the server (no pre-dawn raids there...) and was allowed to delete 30,000 of "the personal" her emails.

Ridiculous. A mockery of justice. That wench deserves to rot in a small cell in Gen Pop.

March 23, 2019

MSNBC host Chris Matthews expressed outrage on Friday upon hearing reports that Special Counsel Robert Mueller had completed his Russia investigation and submitted it to the attorney general -- with further indictments not expected.

Matthews began his show by summarizing the breaking news, but stressed that Mueller handed his report to the Department of Justice “without ever directly interviewing the president of the United States.”

President Trump told anchor Sean Hannity this evening, that his lawyers previously had advised him not to take that dramatic step out of fear that it could be considered obstruction of justice.

“I do, I have plans to declassify and release. I have plans to absolutely release,” Trump said. “I have some very talented people working for me, lawyers, they really didn’t want me to do it early on.”

Trump also accused FBI officials of committing “treason” — slamming former FBI Director James Comey as a “terrible guy,” former CIA Director John Brennan as potentially mentally ill, and Democrat House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff as a criminal.

It's looking more like Bob Mueller was "reigned in" by Acting AG Matthew Whitaker, and ultimately by AG William Barr.

Judicial Watch statement:

Democrats have to be feeling really depressed and betrayed right about now. They were screaming... "Protect Mueller!"..."Protect Rosenstein!" from Trump, up until February.

Now, Mueller has caused the indictment of Obama's W.H. Attorney, and Rosenstein is praising AG Barr, for his handling of redactions in the soon to be released, 400 page Mueller Report.

Attorney General William Barr is “being as forthcoming as he can” about special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia report, said Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

Although Barr provided a four-page summary of the report and said that he would release a redacted version this month, Democrats want Mueller's full report.

“He’s being as forthcoming as he can, and so this notion that he’s trying to mislead people, I think is just completely bizarre,” Rosenstein said, according to the Wall Street Journal.
