One of Lincoln's official duties as Mayor will be to march in the local Memorial Day Parade wearing a custom made sash.
Lincoln, a 3 year old Nubian Goat will be the small town of Fair Haven Vermont's first animal mayor.

Speaking as a New Yorker I can honestly say I don't believe there is a politician here who I would choose over a goat.
Still though... no one rocks the sash quite the way a goat does.

If you take away the political maneuvering and gladhanding how different are Lincoln's duties from those of most major cities?

We have a miniature alpine goat... and we live in a miniature alpine town.
Perhaps she has a chance...
Government and politics
Fair Haven operates under a council–manager government with a town manager and a five-member Selectboard to supervise the local government. It has an annual operating budget of $2.9 million and 29 employees. The town lacks a mayor, but has a ceremonial mayoral election that is open to pets and animals with a paid submission to raise funds for the local elementary school. In a sixteen-candidate ballot in March 2019, a Nubian goat named Lincoln was elected as mayor to a one-year term.
