With our collapsing fish stocks, perhaps it's not a bad idea to start fattening up a goldfish now for next Lent?
Shove a straw down his gullet and pour the fish food down.
We're gonna have fish foie gras!
I still recall I had this goldfish who started swimming upside down (never use your aquarium as a bong), and I took it to the vet in a jiffy bag. And
I waited two hours. And when it was finally my turn he said: "Sorry, but the only fish we care about is in the cat food!"
Sorry Mr/Mrs Fish (I never was sure how it gender identified) - but you're going to that great, sparkly white porcelain throne.
I hope that makes you feel better about it all.
So, would you fatten a pet fish for next Ash Wednesday and Lent?
I mean, we don't need to raid the oceans for the last wild species.
Or maybe you'd become too attached to it, and come next Lent you won't feel like eating it?
