Won't they have to change the constitution and bill of rights if they do that? Our citizens have the right to vote, what are they going to do, change it so that everyone from France can vote too?

I cannot believe the stupidity of the Democratic party with this, Illegals most times do not even pay taxes, the majority work for cash. I have known at least ten illegal immigrants in my life, they were pretty good people, but most of them worked doing handyman like work or worked cleaning houses... they worked cheaper and got paid cash. No taxes taken out at all.

I do not think we should be promoting illegals voting, that would be dumb, that means our country's politics is influenced by another countries people

Yo think democrats give two craps about that? No. Not as long as these illegals are voting for democrats. Let them start voting for Republicans and watch how fast the democrats start to crawfish.

Many who are upset now have been warning that Democrats have been making sure that illegal individuals have been added to voting rolls via several means; I've made mention in the past of states which grant illegals driver licenses in states which also automatically register all driver license holders to vote.

MotherMayEye has posted about the Help America Vote act and the fact that its qualifications for eligibility include any piece of mail with an address making for the possibility of massive voter fraud.

This is the latest in a long line of previous examples.

As many of you know I am a major critic of Trump and many GOP policies. However, on this issue, I agree with the GOP.

It's one thing to be compassionate for individuals looking to better their lives but, just because you live here does not mean you should be granted voting rights. By this logic, if you happen to be vacationing in the US during the election should you be allowed to vote?

This is ludicrous.

Was your account hacked?

Ha!

No, I just happen to think for myself rather than just going along with the group.

I'm older than many of the other people on this site (I remember getting an eight-track in my car and thinking I was the # ). As such, my mindset on what it means to be an American and what America itself stands for is vastly different than what many believe today. I truly believe that America is the shining city on the hill, the model for what the rest of the world should follow.

I believe that America stands for compassion, justice, and freedom. I believe if we are able we should help those in need (which is why I am ok with people applying for asylum). However, if that person claims to be in need but is not, then they have no place in this country. I am not ok with open borders because it is true that a nation cannot survive without borders. However, I do not support a wall because it is extremely expensive and ineffective (All you need is a ladder and rope). I believe that to solve the illegal immigrant issue we must focus on technological solutions (drones, laser barriers, camera's, etc) to detect and prevent border crossings. Also, many "liberals" feel exactly the same as me, but Fox News and other conservative outlets categorize everyone as the crazy open border morons.

You see, we have much more common ground than you would have thought. The news media wants to keep the people in separate corners because if we start finding common ground they will lose money.

This is a great point, because it hasn't been a big deal YET because our ideals and values can coexist. Local laws are sometimes more immediate and intrusive, have seen it here in my county as the economy strengthened and the population became more diverse. LOL its not even a race thing, it's just more nitpicking irritating laws

Hare said it multiple times here. The new Democratic party is a subversive and Constitutionally treasonous political organization.

Another day, another "this cant be real" "how can people still vote for these people?". HOT TAKE, they are and, they did. I hope all us keyboard warriors are enjoying what this country has become. Its obvious sitting at home complaining is making a huge difference. But then, with the amount of idiots voting for idiots, not much can be done. Trump 2020, but if the man keeps kowtowing, who cares. This country is a #hole and getting worse every year.

House votes in favor of illegal immigrant voting

As I said in another thread.

People whine about AIPAC/Israel, but there is not another group that effects domestic policy more than illegal immigrants.

Foreign nationals will be determining policy for American citizens.

All politics are local.

The Golden truth in this snip hole called 'Murica.

An illegal vote cancelling out a legal vote. They are looking for votes anywhere they can find them. In Iowa and many other states they are pushing to allow convicted felons to vote. Other states are wanting the voting age lowered to 16 years of age.

If you've paid your debt to society and are a free man, you should be able to vote.

you can complete the act of voting... but when the voter roll is 'qualified' by the Registar… the former Felon vote is discovered & the vote is stricken from the total vote cast ---the ex-con is none the wiser

just like donating blood... they will take your contribution, give you a cookie,,,
but when they screen for Hep or other contaminations in the donated blood, the blood is either dumped or just the plasma is separated from the unit of blood take... you are none the wiser

at least that's what I hear

Agreed. What I was trying to point out was that they are working to allow all incarcerated the right to vote in all states not just a few. They are declaring it a human rights violation. So this would open up the prisons to voting which would add about another three million voters.

It's a sad day for immigrants. There should be no policy or law that promotes or supports illegal immigration. It is a disservice to immigrants. I love immigrants that come to this country and want to assimilate and be proud Americans. It is one of the very things that made this country one of the best countries in history. Sadly, we continue to undermine these people for no other reason than to manufacture political currency and promote segregation and breed ignorance. The left is creating the kind of society that they claim to stand against. And only because they know they can exploit it and profit from it.

Disgust isn't even a strong enough word.

www.washingtontimes.com...

House Democrats voted Friday to defend localities that allow illegal immigrants to vote in their elections, turning back a GOP attempt to discourage the practice. The vote marks a stunning reversal from just six months ago, when the chamber — then under GOP control — voted to decry illegal immigrant voting. “We are prepared to open up the political process and let all of the people come in,” Rep. John Lewis, a Georgia Democrat and hero of the civil rights movement, told colleagues as he led opposition to the GOP measure. The 228-197 vote came as part of a broader debate on Democrats’ major legislative priority this year, HR 1, the “For the People Act,” which includes historic expansions of voter registration and access, as well as a major rewrite of campaign finance laws.

For the record, this isn't OK. First off, the term "illegal" should be a tiny clue for those not smart enough to understand the bigger picture.
Get legal, or get lost. Allowing illegal aliens to exist inside our borders is already a problem, now you want them to vote? If I would have told you this would be a real headline back in the 90's, you would have laughed me off the internet.

Leftovers, this is what your party has come to. And in such a short time. Trump will be gone in 2-6 years, and it will be time for new leadership. It's looking like the democratic party won't be around by then. Perhaps we will have the choice of Staunch Republican VS. Libertarian. I can't say I would hate that. Implode quietly please, we don't want to wake the baby.

F this
They are seeking a barak stye fundamental change of our nation.
F that

Our system would be fine without socialists trying to undermine it to guarantee minority votes.

Using the Lyndon Johnson model of guaranteed votes.

just trying to create discussion here

i already said i dont agree with it.
so we dont need to go there

A 1996 federal law prohibits noncitizens from voting in federal elections, but there is no prohibition on localities, and indeed a number of jurisdictions allow it, to some extent.

i didnt know that

there is no prohibition on localities.

looks like it has been this way for a while

how many were pissed about this a year ago?

Famously liberal Takoma Park, a small jurisdiction in Maryland, has for several decades allowed noncitizens, including illegal immigrants, to vote in local elections.
Experts say as many as 40 states or territories allowed noncitizen voting dating back to the nation’s founding.

who was pissed a while ago?

everyone in here seems pissed now.

so what changed?

even scrap the expert part.
they dont know #...

some places have allowed this for several decades

I invite you to look at YOUR post to find the answers you seek.

so what changed?

i didnt know that either

Yes. And when you look into what is proposed along with the wall, you may see that what you suggest is part of it.

Democrats don't care that Illegal Immigrants murdered 4,000 Americans over the past 2 years. Allowing them to vote, draw government benefits, and bring drugs into the country, all fit the new Democratic agenda.
