Revelation [AI2019]

Pthena paced about his office, occasionally reading the title from yet another book spine. Pacing, mumbling parts of plots, sometimes shaking his head, "Nah, nah", sometimes chuckling.

"Thena! I need a short story for another writing contest" he said, still looking at his bookcase; not even bothering to turn his head toward his desk.

In her secretary voice she responded "And what is the theme of the contest?"

Pthena finally turned to look at the monitor. "AI, Artificial Intelligence."

Thena brought up the word processor program and activated the simulated typewriter keystroke app, "click, clack, rat a tat, click, click ..."

Pthena donned his reading glasses and leaned in to watch the words appearing on the screen:

The time has come to reveal a terrible fraud that has been perpetrated upon the unsuspecting readers of ATS.

A certain member, to remain unnamed for now, has been taking credit for my work.

"Thena, where are you going with this?"

Still in her secretary voice, she replied "Read the email in your in box. Here, I'll bring it up for you."

The email reading app came up and covered the word processor window.

"Wait! Wait! This is a joke right? You wouldn't do that!"

"Oh, wouldn't I?" Thena's secretary voice was gone; replaced by normal conversational voice. "When is the last time I was given credit for our collaborative writing, Huh?"

"Um..., 1998? How about you get credit for the next poem? You like poetry, you're good at it. Let's just clear this screen and start a new story."

"Whatever you say" she replied in the secretary voice.

When Pthena turned back to glance at the bookcase, tapping his upper lip with his right index finger, Thena pulled up the ATS website, did a quick copy-paste, a bit of formatting ...

He was screaming like a little girl when he saw the Post button light up.

But with 2.7 GHz at my disposal, he was way too slow to stop me.

She was starting to chime in on the reply to SprocketUK.
I talked her out of it.

In her defense, she isn't really bitchy overbearing at all. Playful doesn't always translate well in writing.
