So what about the separation of church and state?

Congressman are suppose to be 'secular'.

I don't like it either.

While I don't support Muslim causes, and I don't like that someone in my government does, it doesn't surprise me. But bias doesn't equate to bigotry, they're two separate words for a reason.

I said this earlier.

But as long as people vote ideologues into office to represent them, it will get other communities to counter so they feel represented as well.

Again, I don't like it, but I'm not surprised.

Wait, I thought traditional Muslim women weren't even supposed to be involved in politics. So what brand of Islam is she an adherent of? This whole situation is hilarious, it's as if these democratic socialist threw a bomb in the room. They are fracturing their own party and are too hung in their personal politics to work for a greater goal. Good! At the rate the Democrats have been going we would be a socialist country in a decade or 2.

If you ask me Omar, AOC and the other Congressional newbies are crazed narcissists out to make themselves look good.

That's the thing.

Omar should have never been elected.

“Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.”

When she mentions “Israel” she’s not talking about the Palestinians that live there that’s for damn sure . She speaking in code about the “evil” jooooooooooos.

So let’s rephrase it and see if it is anti-Semantic or racist.

* “ Black people have dumbed down the world . May God awaken all people so they can see the ignorance of blacks“

Correct me if I’m wrong .

But when you look at the intent not the words it is definitely racist and highly suspect of being anti-semantic.

* Note

There’s not a racist bone in my body . My use of the term black people was merely for comparison .

Anything short of her carving "death to isreal" on her senate desk will never be proof.

All we can do is make a judgment based on her body of work. I for one dont trust her one damn bit.

I'm critical of Israel, and don't want them meddling with us but see no reason why they shouldn't exist. They have as much of a right to that as any country, and I can still disagree with said countries.

Here is an opinion from an Israeli columnist, a bit of caveat is he is a self proclaimed Israeli patriot, but very critical of their occupation and foreign policy. (boy can I relate to him)

What, after all, has Omar said? That pro-Israel activists demand “allegiance to a foreign country”; that U.S. politicians support Israel because of money they receive from the pro-Israel lobby group AIPAC, and that “Israel hypnotized the world.” What is incorrect in these statements? Why is describing reality considered anti-Semitic?

Jews have immense power in the U.S., far beyond the relative size of their community, and the blind support given by their establishment to Israel raises legitimate questions regarding dual loyalty. Their power derives from their economic success, their organizational skills and the political pressure they exert. Omar dared to speak about this.

Just imagine what Israelis and Jews would feel if Muslim Americans had the same political, economic and cultural power Jews have. Such power, above all the intoxication with power that has seized hold of the Jewish establishment, comes with a price. Omar and her colleagues are trying to collect on it.

His full opinion piece.

People have different opinions, much of their opinions are guided by their theology.

I listen to all extremes of such, and as long as people are honest, their opinions don't bother me, because I am confident in my own.

Antisemitism (also spelled anti-semitism or anti-Semitism) is hostility to, prejudice, or discrimination against Jews.[1][2][3] A person who holds such positions is called an antisemite. Antisemitism is generally considered to be a form of racism.[4][5] It has also been characterized as a political ideology which serves as an organizing principle and unites disparate groups which are opposed to liberalism.[6]

Makes some people wonder who these "new" elected officials really are 😎

You're wrong.

She didn't say Jews, she said Israel.

If I say "Libya has hypnotized the US government", I'm not saying black people, I'm saying the actions of Libyan government.

You twisted it to fit your narrative.

Anyone who likes foreign governments lobbying ours for cash should really think hard about that position. Change Israel to the Pakistani Lobby, which is a real thing and headed up by an American, and see if you chub up over that too.

Giving money to foreign governments is not where I want my tax money spent. My Evil Joo wife agrees.

I'm curious of the context in which you make that statement. Are you saying she should not have been allowed to run for office? Or that voters made a big mistake?

Politicians running on nationalism and isolationism is just lip service for those who truly want that.

The same is true for the people who talk about it while letting large external lobbying efforts to influence our policy.

I'd gladly prioritize getting Saudi Arabian efforts out of our government before we move our efforts towards Israel... Rinse and repeat until it's all gone.

Ironically enough, I don't see outrage about all the people critical to a Muslim saying this when there is a thread about Saudi Arabian influence in our government... which has almost as much, or equal pull in our policy as Israel, and is *gasp* Muslim.

meh, what she said was not anti Semitic. I see either the Conservatives are just as much anti free speech as the Progs OR they are just so used to hearing every one else offended by WORDS, that it has become a contagious disease. I hate the woman, but nothing she said that all this outrage is about is anti semitic.

From the sound of it, Pelosi doesnt approve either.

The bar is much lower for Republicans though... remember, when the left was claiming anything said by a conservative was a "dog whistle" for racism...

This is exactly what she is doing when she says "Israel"... it is a dog whistle for evil Jooz...

It is ironic because the left really has a growing anti-Semite problem in their ranks that they are trying to hide and not to acknowledge. The dirty little secret is that all the identity groups on the left don't really like each other... it will be a Mexican standoff.

I stated my position on that once and it’s completely obvious .

But the statement might not have been clear enough.

So I will try to clean it up one time.

When she said Israel. Who is she talking about the Palestinian population of Israel or the jewish population ?

So are you saying the conservatives were dog whistling? Because I don't think they were.

Are we not allowed to say Israel has too much money and pull in our politics? Or will that hurt peoples feelz good receptors?

They seem to forget or just flat out ignore why Israel was recreated.
