Virtually every major Democrat running for President is promising America that they will implement a "Green New Deal that includes Medicare For All", if elected President.

When asked about the COST of these programs, they respond with, "It's not about the Cost! It's about the Benefits to Americans and to Planet Earth."

Maybe they're still counting on the "stupidity of the American public" as President Obama's advisor did, when coaching the President on how to promote the Affordable Care Act (aka ObamaCare) in 2009/2010?

But I don't think even the most ardent and trusting Democrats will go along with these programs, when the final costs are revealed. Early dollar figures are known however, so let's look at them.

The Green New Deal may tally between $51 trillion and $93 trillion over 10-years, concludes American Action Forum, which is run by Douglas Holtz-Eakin, who directed the non-partisan CBO from from 2003 to 2005.

That includes between $8.3 trillion and $12.3 trillion to meet the plan’s call to eliminate carbon emissions from the power and transportation sectors, and between $42.8 trillion and $80.6 trillion for its economic agenda, including providing jobs, and health care for all.
Source: www.bloomberg.com...

If you take $90 Trillion dollars and divide it by the 325 million people here in the USA (ref: www.worldometers.info... ), you find that every man/woman/child will need to pay $277,000 over the next ten years, or $27,000 per year to make the Green New Deal a reality. If you're a family of 4, that would be $108,000 a year, in additional taxes to the Federal Government.

Naturally, most people can't afford that much $$$. And rich people/corporations will move their money elsewhere, to prevent being soaked.

As with every big government program, the ACTUAL cost to America will be FAR MORE than even the final Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimate...just like ObamaCare was/is.

But remember...like Senator/Presidential candidate KAMALA DEVI HARRIS said last week...Cost isn't what matters!

U.S. ATS Members, are you willing to pay significantly more to the government in TAXES and FEES, in order to help clean up the planet and provide really good healthcare for all Americans?

I am willing to bet that everyone who makes over $10,000 a year will be against the Green New Deal. And even those below poverty level will be against it, when they realize that additional taxes on cigarettes and liquor are included.

Contact your local Congress person and let him/her know that you are 100% for it, and wish to volunteer to help get the word out. Good luck!

Double or Triple the "$27,000" because many pay little to no taxes.

Taking a move from the Obama play-book, Democrats are submitting a bill late this evening (when nobodies looking) to add a tax that will be passed down to average Americans, for fattening up socialist programs and initiating a funding source for the upcoming Green New Deal.

What’s new. DeFazio’s bill, which has at least 12 co-sponsors, would impose a 0.1% tax on securities transactions.

The aim, DeFazio has said, is to deter high-frequency trading and raise revenue that the government can spend on what he views as more-productive social programs. Initial securities issuances and short-term debt would be exempted from the tax.

The bill would raise an estimated $777 billion over a decade.

This is just one of MANY bills being prepared to generate additional revenue. I suspect we'll see inflation start to increase, as these revenue generating measures begin to take hold. I hope the Senate is SMART/ALERT and squashes these money grabs.

Oh, it's worse than that. Consider the fact that only half of the workers in America even pay a net income tax and that pool of workers is a mere 145 million. taxfoundation.org... That drives us down to this burden falling on the shoulders of only 72.5 million of us, making the burden per actual tax paying America a staggering $1,250,000. The cutoff point for "upper middle class" (AKA "wealthy") in America is generally considered to begin at $500,000. The tax burden for this abomination is 2 and a half times the low end of upper middle class... but a few million Americans don't have insurance and live in energy inefficient homes, better burn the whole goddamned mess down to satisfy the few, ya?

And of course this will only be on top of existing programs/taxes because its not like they ever really lower our rates. But hey its not like it will come out of the pockets of anybody in Congress to pay for this crap...

Since Obama had no problem with running up the national debt more than every President before him, combined... The Democrat who wins in 2020 will not hesitate to get loans from China, and print more $$$ either.

C'mon now... don't think about the cost, think about the objective.

To fundamentally transform a country, you have to burn it to ashes before you can rebuild. Destroy the economy so that you can remake it.

And then all that money will be at your disposal to make your socialist utopia.

Oh wait... nobody will have any money.

Followers of Progressivism are rather short-sighted.

I suppose even if they got rid of the "Green" part of the New Deal, and kept just the Healthcare-4-All, that 32 Trillion Dollar price tag is too high. That's what one Congressman submitted last week.

Good point! All the Democrat proposals are IN ADDITION TO what we're already paying in taxes, sales taxes, fees, etc..
