But it’s a moral question, not one of property rights. Of course someone can do what they want on their property, and no one should tell them otherwise. The question is whether it is right or wrong to do so.

What do you not understand about the below article?

Police in Pennsylvania Are Abusing the State's Hate Crime Law to Punish Speech

Anymore false arguments.

It’s Time to Crush Campus Censorship

Government is abusing hate speech laws, and ignoring people being harassed for voicing their opinion.

'Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it.'. The quote is most likely due to writer and philosopher George Santayana, and in its original form it read, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.".

You can keep saying there is no attack on free speech in America. And if you tell the lie often enough, you might actually believe it.

You need to get out more. From NYU to the university of New Mexico to Cal State East Bay and the bars, coffee shops that surround any campus there's plenty of free speech. Actually people get along pretty well and violence is rare, regardless of their ideology.
Try to get a little better perspective than Sean and Savage.

Funny you ignore the articles quoted. Thanks for trying to gloss over the truth.

The free speech advocacy group released a report in December 2018 claiming more than a quarter of colleges openly and significantly restrict free speech on campus, earning a red-light rating. The same report said nearly 90 percent of Pennsylvania colleges unconstitutionally restricted some amount of speech, earning a yellow-light rating.

How Democrats are destroying American’s right to free speech
nypost.com...

Margie McIntyre was an Ohio mom who opposed an effort by the school system to raise taxes. She handed out leaflets, some of which did not have her name on them, at a public meeting. For this act she was fined $100 by the Ohio Elections Commission in a case that wound up at the Supreme Court. The OEC wasn’t concerned about an onslaught of leafletting moms. It wanted to send a message to others: When the state wants something, don’t get in our way.

Yea dying... as you share your thoughts and criticism on the most influential invention towards free speech in human history. The internet.

But are we doing it freely in the sense that we are 100% honest about it? Nope. I note every one of us uses a screen name to hide behind.

Free speech must be expanded in the constitution to prevent corporations from influencing what people say in public or on platforms run by corporations. Free speech is going away because everything is corporate controlled now. Free speech should never have negative consequences. I understand a company firing somebody for slandering them, but having a controversial viewpoint is not the equivalent of slander and that type of thought control needs to stop.

Yes there's a bunch of words I bet you can't type here without getting your post censored.
I miss the internet of 25 years ago. No advertisements. No commercialism. Nobody censoring anything.
Say whatever. If you don't like it don't read it. It also helps identify people you don't want anything to do
with easily. It's hard to do that when control freaks think they are swinging big because they have access
to the control panel in the software of a web sight and can feel high and mighty exercising their GOD-LIKE
powers over others. Ooo yeah feel the power of the ban hammer. It's pathetic. People like that used to
have a short life online in the good old days but now they have the keys to the kingdom in Internet 2.0.
The people are going to have to come up with a new network because this one is borked.

There was a thread last week whioch poste some unseen, but well sourced, extracts from Goebbel's diray. It questioned the narrative of the holocaust. It was not an offensive thread or question..... But it got moved within 10 minutes. Binned. Never to be seen again.

Each situation should be treated individually and therefore the boundaries and decisions regarding the boundaries will be unique for each situation.

Sometimes it should be parents, sometimes Governments, sometimes a consensus of opinion, sometimes common sense, sometimes logic. There is no one answer.

People do it to protect their personel lives because of identity theft. But it still gives you the chance to speak your mind freely.

Its also in my opinion a part of free speech. Not be judged by who you are, just because of where you're from or your heritage and background. Anonymity can really have an impact on the tone of discussion.

We may b able to post on social media sites but if what we post is deemed offensive to some, that post gets deleted. Take ATS for example. We are having our thoughts and opinions shut down. If we can't have an opinion, then what is the point?

Privately owned & run forum is private, whatever the three amigos decide for rules & etiquette is what they decide, regardless of whether or not you agree with them, or want to clutch a box of tampons and cry about it.

Big freakin' difference between government not being able to legally tell you to STFU, and owners of places you traipse into.

just so we get things straight... I'm not crying... merely pointing out that free speech is being shut down. Free thought is being shut down.

To be blunt, you don't understand what freedom of speech within the limits of the law is to begin with, and are on one hell of an entitlement pedestal.

Let's be clear, and try this again.

Government cannot tell you "Unapproved political talk bad, STFU or go to jail."

.

Why should there be a law on my right to say what I want? It's my mouth, no one else's.

Ok, some things may be too racist or too violent to say to another person but most of what is said online isn't that bad. People have to learn to take what's said with a pinch of salt and not get all hussy cry baby about it.

It's fun in most cases to take the pee out of something or someone... for instance why did people get all upset and crybaby about depiction of Mo on a cartoon mag? It was just a laugh. People are too sensitive these days.

Why is David Icke being shut down and shut out of Australia? He just wants to get the truth out there but he's being shut down because some people in high places don;'t want that truth to be told.

why do 'gays' get all crybaby if they are called poofs? the cose to be tha way, so should acept they will be called a poof!

I'm pretty sure the Nazi's were shutting everyone down who didn't conform. The Liberal Left are doing the same now... just because others have a different opinion.

None of what you just posted is someone preventing you from saying whatever it you want to say, you just want free speech without consequences.

You know that:
  • Drawing Mohammed pisses people off
  • Calling homosexuals derogatory names pisses them off
  • Using overly racist epithets pisses people off
You have freedom of speech, you don't have freedom of consequences if someone punches you in your gob (or worse) for what comes out if it. They may end up being in the wrong in many cases, although there are 'fighting words' instances that have been upheld by the courts, but by all means, if you need to call gays names knock yourself out, it's always good to know who the tools are.

Sounds like some need a safe place tbh. If you cannot understand private companies can censor who they want (ATS also) you are an idiot.
If you don't like the way companies operate don't use them and maybe open your own company up where you can spew all the hatred all you want.
