I bet they thought a certain Austrian in Germany had no chance of ascending to power either.
So, the structure of the US government and politics is the same as that of 1930s Germany. I was not aware of that. Thanks.

Is she running for president or something?

She sure seems to have Republicans running in circles.

I think anyone in the position of power with extreme views is a concern, and her socialist views are about as extreme as they get. Add in she is on the offensive towards anyone not on her band wagon I would think there is more concern in her own party than Republicans who can sit back eat popcorn and watch the train wreak.

Really? As extreme as they get. Okey dokey.

I still don't understand why she, a freshman in the House of representatives, one person, is creating such a panic among Republicans.

Actually, I do. It plays well with the base. And it's all about that base.

You don't find her views rather extreme? Her plans add up to what, 93 trillion over 10 years to make them happen...

I think the correct word is "fun"... it is fun to talk about her...

Freshman is old school, there is a new power called "I'm a woman of color" and it is used now as a weapon that makes 30 year congress veterans cringe in fear...lol

I find her views very left, yes. Too much so for my liking. But as far as being extremely socialistic, no. And I don't think she's going to be the end of America.

I don't know. I haven't seen a cost analysis. How much are the far right's tax cuts increasing the deficit?

Sorry edited my post above with a little more...

Basically free everything and a Government paycheck on top for doing nothing is about as far left socialist as you can get I would think. Anyhow, that is the battle cry of the left for the poor vote...free free free...

Yeah. But that's a distortion of what her platform actually is.

Not really. Or is the right's battlecry, "damn the deficit, cut taxes for the rich and poison the planet?"

Not to far off...Have you read the Green plan?

Not really. Or is the right's battlecry, "damn the deficit, cut taxes for the rich and poison the planet?"

I got about 6k reduction in taxes, but then it is money I paid in, money I worked for in the private sector, so not really free... There is not enough rich people to even make a dent even at 90% tax on them, so "rich" becomes a moving goal post...they may say anyone over 10 million pays 70% today, but that could easily come to say the upper 20% pays 70% and the 10 million pays 90% and even that isn't the numbers people might think...

Much of the world hasn't change in "poison" production over the years except for China... Talk about plastics in out ocean, polluted cities, CO2 so on and so on. There is really one place to look... I don't think Oregon making plastic bags illegal is going to do much, as example, but we both know that carbon tax is just another form of people getting rich....

Who said it was free?

So you get my point about distortion.

Distortion is the new meme...Everything is distorted...I have my theory that AIs and algorithms are the culprits behind much of that distortion. As to the left, my greatest fear is they actually back a moderate that I like. I want a President to do 8 years as I see the second term as gloves off time, but looking at the list of 20 liberals so far there isn't much there to fear.

So the left is spouting "free"...as in free healthcare, free school up through college, debts wiped, $1000 pay check per month for breathing, so on and so on...

We know it isn't free...well except for those who will not be paying any taxes...and that my friend is a vote in the bank...

I think that the more people who have access to education and healthcare the better. I don't know where you came up with that $1,000 pay check for nothing, that's not part of her platform.

we except for those who will not be paying any taxes

I'm for full tax change such as a flat tax and even a consumption tax beyond sales tax...

Here is a link to one of my posts about the Green Deal and how I see much of it.

I can see why you would. Sales and consumption taxes tend to be regressive.

Another AOC thread. How exciting!

Is it about her hands? Or her dancing? Or her job as a bartender? Maybe it's another Green New Deal thread? Oh, nope, another 'AOC vs Democrats' post. Nice.

Not so much exciting but more like entertaining.Grab your popcorn and your
drink of choice and watch the show.

So in other words, the dEms Plan is : “don’t think about what we’re voting for, just vote opposite of what republicans vote”

How thick can their supporters possibly be????

About as thick as the people who voted for Trump because he wasn't a Democrat..

I voted for Trump! I didn't want that brain damaged witch in the White House!

It's still regressive.
Lower income earners are paying a higher percentage of their income in taxes when they buy something.

Your moron AOC is about to start a civil war within the Democratic Party, attacking those that don't toe her Venezuela-socialist dingbat line.
