Recommend people read "Confessions of an Economic Hitman" by John Perkins.

It will show how Venezuela, in all likelihood, has been a victim of this ruse and how they cover their tracks and how threads like this are used to get the cover out.

They need to cover their tracks because they need an uninformed public in order to keep doing what they do because if what they do was exposed, it would curtail the life span of the ruse.

They started with 3rd world countries now they are moving up to 2nd world countries. It wont be too long before they start doing this to some 1st world countries.

Sadly; I think TPTSNB are putting their people into the govts of 1st world countries to ensure there is enough support within the national govt of the country concerned, to accept the deal the economic hitmen present them with when it comes along.

That's sad.

Well THAT deflated quickly.

Though I wouldn't mind a link or list of socialist countries supposedly better than the US, I could use a good laugh.

Yeah, I'm here.

Ats is obviously an extremely right wing echo chamber these days.

I'm done here.

Wow. The levels of butthurt from being proven wrong in the very first reply are simply off the charts! But I kind of liked the game you started. My turn!

Can you name one person in Trump's cabinet, or one registered Republican who is actually a Nazi?

Because I keep hearing that term bandied about by extreme left echo chambers, but I'm starting to think it's just semantics and hyperbole...?

This thread is curious. Very curious. Kind of disgusting in a way, but that is probably just my complete misunderstanding. I am sure there was some attempt to produce a good conversation somewhere. It almost appears that a minor twist was exploited to the fullest.

Maybe your question was asking why we are so afraid of observing what is working in other countries with different structures. Then argue if those structures would produce similar results here with our societal structure. Maybe producing a valuable conversation instead of just saying 'my way or the highway'.

Could it be that certain people are very very well served by the quasi capitalism / quasi free market system we currently have and really don't want to change anything, especially their foundation of reality on which they have built their mental fortress and it would take too much work to even consider other possibilities? They have got theirs so those that don't have as much success with this system can just go fly a kite.

But envy of what some people can do is not revenge worthy is it?

I mean, should we sack the rich like the Soviets did in the 20th Century?

I don't think envy should ever be a motivating factor, for anything. I am just watching seeing the momentum building and building wondering why. Will there be compromise needed as some point? Is that even possible?

Do we just here waiting for the inevitable lesson from history?

No it's not a right wing echo chamber...It's a pro America Echo chamber...There are many, many, many Independents and Democrats who over the years have been pro America but have never had a voice...Now we have one...

America is doing good and has the potential to get much better...What's with this communist/socialist BS you guys are pushing...Socialism didn't make this Country the strongest, most prosperous, and the envy of the World...It was freedom, liberty and our form of government...

You guys, Bernie and AOC talk about free everything...Let the rich people pay for it...Well the rich people were leaving the Country and now Trump has them coming back...You want to take there money and they'll leave again...Then what'll you do...

DiBlasio in New York found that out...He admitted they taxed the rich people so much they are all leaving the State...NOW, they've got a big tax problem...

America's getting much better, even for you...

So you guys have some new old ideas that are going to change America for the better...Harnessing cow farts and and eliminating all gas engines within 12 years ain't gonna get it...Yet the whacked out Democrats will push and vote for these ideas because they are told to...

Bernie and some of the others are pushing Medicare for all...And Democrats are getting on the bandwagon...Nancy Pelosi just a couple of days ago said it would be impossible to implement that plan due the the astronomical cost...You guys spout this Socialist stuff but can't seem to see the consequences that will result...

Ah, but I am not a supporter of AOC or bernie. I am not for socialism or communism, maybe not any of the current 'isms'. I am simply asking 'what if' full unbridled free markets are really in our best interest at the current time. As you state, maybe we should be shying away from age old theories and looking for something new.

But if we disregard our past lessons, any new creation will assuredly fail, just has every other society and government in our written history. I do not seek free health care or social programs shoved down our throats by the federal government. I think compassion towards others would be better served by different means. Something that doesn't involve taking from people by force to give to others.

But the capitalist wall is well built and comforting. I guess we will just have to see what happens. I am in no way denying the level of luxury possible in our current society. Luxury that exceeds a lot of other places. But from where I sit, a rot is starting to creep into our system and it isn't the rot of socialism. Socialism is merely a reaction to the rot, because we refuse to look for other directions. So it is so much easier to attack the reactions to the rot instead of the rot itself.

If you had to theorize, what do you imagine the rot could be? Or is everything just hunky-dory out there?

The only thing I posted was about keeping my freedoms and liberties in the face of encroaching "socialism".

And that (I believe) is what it boils down to.

It's not about left or right or republican or democrat.

It's about keeping the fundamental freedoms and liberties that the Constitution guarantees.

That's why socialism will always have a fight in the US. Oh sure, it'll get here eventually, but you'll have to destroy the Constitution and spill a bucket of blood in the process.

But isn't our constitution already being watered down, within the free market capitalist system? It doesn't even appear we need to embrace socialism for our freedoms to disappear. I think the blood will be spilled far sooner in our attempts to bring back the full constitution and bill of rights. The slow conversion to socialism will be like the boiling a frog scenario. It will just happen step by step, as it has over the last 50 years. Going back 100 years, I bet citizens of our constitutional republic back would look upon us today and yell 'socialist' (if the term was available and understood at that time). We are already far along the path.

I can fully understand why people are looking towards socialism because they wish not to embrace whatever market/society we have today. A lot of the ideas of full socialism maybe should get the reaction as was received in this thread. But looking in from the other side, this appears to be a circle jerk, a ganging up and patting each other on the back for the sheer awesomeness displayed. I have no clue, maybe it is as it should be. If it were me, I would just wonder why is all and try to understand where these ideas are coming from. What type of people and thought processes are involved with the divergence. Divided we fall.

*shrugs*

It's all about freedom. I don't care how you dress it up and parade it around the room.

Yeah, socialism will eventually win out. I'm smart enough to see the writing on the walls.

But it's not about ideologies. It's about freedom.

To me it just seems very obvious that there is and always has been a massive class war. Where those with money and power work very hard to get more of it, and to keep others from getting it. The monied interests seem to have won the war at this point, at least to me. We have, for the last several decades, a real decline in the middle class, And a projected decline in wages and standard of living for our children. Almost no say politically, and fewer freedoms every year.

On the other hand, the dynasties keep getting richer, select preeminent corporations and the financial sector keep getting more powerful.

And yet many working class folk want to continue to give more power to these groups, or fail to see the power these groups have taken, or just don’t care as long as their personal lives are good today. The media constantly puts up lies, and everyone knows, but when those lies support their worldview, then the media is telling the truth. Everyone knows the govt puts out fake statistics, but when the fake statistics serve their agenda then they are seen as gospel truth. And everyone embraces unconsciously that the us is exceptional, and our people are exceptional, so we have the right to completely ignore all international law, though if others break that law it’s cause for invasion and war.

We casually accept and approve of our nation ruining millions of lives by illegal sanctions, invasions, etc because we personally don’t like the people we’re sanctioning or invading (whom we’ve never met, but we’re told not to like by the media that we know always lies unless it agrees with us) because obviously our country is more right about what the world needs than other peoples.

It’s a big pot of hubris, ignorance, and manufactured consent.
