I feel the cons hugely outweigh the pros on the topic of open borders.

Which in turn helps provide clarity on the subject.

Pros of open borders

Helping others
Being compassionate
Current population dwindling, need to import more.

Cons of open borders

Expense
Assimilation
Language translation
Medical issues
Over population
Number of available jobs
Lack of resources
Over filled schools

Seems like there is a huge gamble that comes along with the idea of open borders.

Why not be on the safe side?

Is there any country even considering to have 'open borders'? There aren't really places in the world like that unless its a conglomerate of States or provinces already part of a country of regional union.

We send supplies and soldiers and advisors to other countries to protect their borders but we won't do the same for ours?

Something smells fishy

Pros of open borders

Helping others

You can't call it helping when it is at the expense of others.

Being compassionate

Current population dwindling, need to import more.

I'm a-okay with that..that is definitely not a bad thing. Humans don't need to breed themselves into oblivion.

So basically it's compassion, but most people worry about their families first y'know.

On that matter, are there any actual people who want open borders who actually understand the implications and reality of it?

I just can't believe anyone advocating for it could be stupid enough to actually understand it and still want it.

I see where you would find such to be a bad idea. I feel your pros may be skewed and lacking due to fear givin to you by the msm.

I think the first step to understanding this issue may be to list the reasons why people want to come here.

At the top of the pros list should be freedom!

If you do not have borders then you do not have a sovereign nation.

Pretty straight forward.

The cons apply to everyone here. Is man a slave serving the system or does the system serve man? We have HUGE increases in productivity over the last 50 years yet everyone is broke and in debt. And we do not have enough resources to feed ourselves let along strangers. HOGWASH!

The system is rigged. We are all slaves. Not being able to have an economy to meet our own needs proves it!!

When I think of a wall like that, I keep ending up thinking about East Germany/Iron Curtain

The Iron Curtain wasn't to keep people "out", it was intended to keep people "in".

Completely different concept.

We have had borders and a seemingly sovereign nation for centuries without walls.

Orange man confused.

Do you have a fence for your yard? Do you lock your doors to your house, car, work? Why?

It is trespassing to cross someones fence. It is usually considered asylum to cross the border.

Europeans are a minority, if anyone needs more of population that would be Europe.

There are no pros to an open border.

Hey look!

They don't have to obey the law, So I'm not.

Law and order is the foundation of this country.

Because if people are not going to enforce the laws.

There's no effing reason for congress,Scotus, or any LEO organization.
