Kind of hard to say what the sticking point may have been, we will just have to wait and see if Kim keep on as he has since he stopped launching missiles and setting off bombs or if he starts his antics again.

If the status quo that has been the case for a little while now holds, then I still see a success. If things start getting tense again, then we're back to where we were before Trump started his presidency. As things are, we have many more positives to count with Korea since president Trump than we have in all the years since hostilities ceased.

You'd prefer we just give him cash to leave us alone? That's what almost every other President has done.

Right. Let them starve. That'll teach Kim. Is that what you're talking about? Food?

When it comes to NK don't expect a full denuclearization.

When was cash last given to Kim by the US? Or have you been listening to the liar in chief again?

Between 1995 and 2008, the United States provided North Korea with over $1.3 billion in assistance: slightly more than 50% for food aid and about 40% for energy assistance. Since early 2009, the United States has provided virtually no aid to North Korea, though episodically there have been discussions about resuming large-scale food aid

By giving a Kim some sort of prestige on the world stage? Against the counsel of ... everybody?

You'd prefer we just give him cash to leave us alone? That's what almost every other President has done.

Or maybe you'd be happier with an armed invasion? Sorry, some of us are actually wanting peace.

Sheesh, SMH...

TheRedneck

The sad truth appears to be that as long as Kim is in power, “Peace” will not be possible unless the world is willing to recognize, and accept, NK as a fully functional nuclear power.

I like what Kim Jong said earlier in response to a reporter's question about making NK Nuke-free. "I wouldn't be here if I didn't plan on denuclearizing."

If Kim Jong-Un is waiting for $150 million in bribes, it's not gonna happen. Trump isn't like the last batch of U.S. Presidents.

You have way too much blind faith in that man. Just remember that IF it turns out he is a very bad man that doesn't your best interest in mind that maybe rethink who to follow and who to not.

But to the OP I really do hope that some good is heading our and NK way.
I have my doubts but sometimes hope can overcome doubt.

Oh, Trump just lied again.

He said Cohen said there was no collusion. That is not what Cohen said.

N.K wanted the sanctions lifted now... Trump said no until N.K. meets certain demands by the USA. There was an agreement to have the back ground folks continue working and hopefully making progress and setting up another meeting in the future..

At least Kim said there would be no more rocket test as everything seems to be the same as before the meeting. Trump is still saying there are good things going on behind the back ground. They both walked away from the meeting on good terms.

Don’t be too sure.

Desperate times often call for desperate measures.

Trump might feel pressured to “bring home a win” to ensure that Republicans in the Senate fall in line with his efforts to de-rail Democrat efforts to rescind his “national emergency”.

If his party senses he is unable to reign in NK’s nuclear efforts, they may pull their support (or simply fail to support) from what they perceive as an otherwise “lame duck” President.

The Republicans in the Cohen hearings certainly did little to attempt to refute the document evidence Cohen presented in Wednesday’s public hearings, in so doing, the perception was that they showed little interest in defending “their” President.

That cannot be sitting easily with Trump.

Kim didn’t keep his end of the bargain. Trump walked. Job well done.
