we have two nuclear powers who are enemies and are now engaging in armed conflict over the Kashmir region.

this needs to be addressed immediately as both are nuclear powers !

I'm pretty sure India and Pakistan have been fighting over Kashmir for decades.

I suppose that its been an ongoing conflict and never escalated much further than that !

I dont this feels different , just due to the vast majority of political changes happening elsewhere, these things tend to spill out all together !

EU-NATO's hopes to get India and Pakistan to do their dirty jobs, by having a nuclear war against each other is not going anywhere ... Eurogarchs' plans are doomed !

It may be a centuries old conflict, but the potential for all out war is still always there. I agree, it is definitely more important than the political theatre we all engage endlessly.

Its a perfect example of the folly of forced immigration if you ask me. A century or so ago these 2 countries were split from a larger India, the primary driver? Cultural/Religious differences too great for either party to get past.

Modern states evolved from this very premise.

I hope for everyones sakes, this isnt the moment in history where cooler heads dont prevail.

unfortunately, the world has forgotten about the devastation of nuclear weapons. I feel that if a couple of nukes flew and exploded, then the world would once again wake up to the devastation of nukes. Unfortunately the world needs a couple of nukes going off to re-awaken us to the utter destruction that nuclear war would bring, for everyone involved.

No we aren't.

Despite your self-hatred for all things British we are NOT responsible for all the worlds ills!

Yes, we separated India into a predominantly Muslim Pakistan and Hindu India....but what were the alternatives?
And they have had plenty of time - over 70 years - to sort their own crap out.

The bottom line is Hindus and Muslims absolutely hate each other.
This hatred goes much further back than The British Raj and runs very, very deep.
They truly despise each other.

Both people are relatively westernised in their lifestyles yet the intense hatred for each other is alarming.
