The F-35Bs deployed on the USS Essex flew 1200 hours over 100 combat missions while deployed in the AOR. Missions included everything from post strike assessments through clouds where other aircraft couldn't get as much detail, close air support over Afghanistan and Syria, and hitting Taliban and ISIS targets.

In addition they were able to do it while keeping 75% of their aircraft ready to fly. According to the squadron spokesperson, the aircraft exceeded expectations.

In before F-35 sucks.

That's good news. I wonder how the F-35 haters will handle it.

Does the Marine F-35 have the latest software and the helmet?

I don't know for certain, but the Navy and Marines were cleared to update to 3F in May, and they deployed in September, so they should have it on board.

Hey Zaph! Nice to know you're still around here at ATS. Thanks for the update.

The US still has the most superior air force in the world, right..?
