And how can I hate clowns? They're amusing and funny.

When was the last time you've seen a mirror?

Where is she wrong? Science does say we're f***ed and a carbon tax isn't going to fix things. It's funny how she's literally agreeing with what the Right has been saying all along about carbon taxes and you still can't agree with her.

She's also right that a lot of young people aren't having children because of the state of the world. I know that's the reason most of my friends give for not wanting kids.

And she is also right about Venezuela. At least partially. Things seemed to be working fine under Chavez. It wasn't until Maduro took over that things went to s**t.

Ask yourself these questions:

1.) If socialism is always destined to fail why do capitalist countries always go out of their way to shut it down?

2.) If socialism is always destined to fail why does it almost always seem to lead to a higher quality of life when the US doesn't try to limit it?

Hello, that's the issue with socialism. You give the government too much power, and all it takes is for one person to come in and control everything.

Imagine if we went full socialist right now. Would you be comfortable with Trump being president? Probably way less so than you are now.

I don't have to do snip.

Republicans and Democrats don't agree on anything.

Especially the wholesale destruction of entire industries.

And this is exactly why a growing number of people here on ATS don't take your posts seriously.

You don't provide any evidence to support your claims, and when someone questions you, your answer is always something along the lines of "I don't have to, because I know it to be true".

If you know it to be true, prove it, because a lot of folks don't believe you or don't agree with you, and the best way to change minds is to provide evidence that people are wrong. Otherwise you're just yelling at a brick wall.

Deny Ignorance.
Oh riiiight!!!! And AOC’s “evidence” is “just step
Outside”. It’s two things right now.... a magnetic pole shift and a polar vortex from a quiescent solar cycle, neither of which have anything to do with anthropogenic global warming. So please spare us when it’s clear that Cortez has zero knowledge of even some cursory scientific fact.

Nothing is wrong with Making America better, but perhaps she could actually do something that would rather than sponsor bills that do nothing and have no weight behind them.

Not to mention the list of bills she has co-sponsored, some of which include:

To prohibit discrimination in higher education against certain undocumented students on the basis of immigration status, and for other purposes.

To regulate assault weapons, to ensure that the right to keep and bear arms is not unlimited, and for other purposes.

Aretha Franklin Congressional Gold Medal Act

To designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 1450 Montauk Highway in Mastic, New York, as the "Army Specialist Thomas J. Wilwerth Post Office Building".

To designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 25 Route 111 in Smithtown, New York, as the "Congressman Bill Carney Post Office".

To redesignate the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area as the Maurice D. Hinchey Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area, and for other purposes.

To designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 40 Fulton Street in Middletown, New York, as the "Benjamin A. Gilman Post Office Building".

etc.

She has personally sponsored only the New Green Deal and cosponsored a host of useless (imho) legislation.

Now, this is not to say that she is the only useless individual in the House of Representatives, but all these acts of renaming this post office to such and such do absolutely nothing, imho, to address the many real issue our nation faces. A lot of these are just a bunch of busy work to make it seem like what they do is necessary to the operation of our country's business; it isn't.

It would also help if she weren't a flaming hypocrite; again, not saying she is the only one. Many from both sides of the aisle are, but this is a thread about her specific lunacy.

Still...as one poster blasted out in the last AOC post....there is s big heap o AOCDS going on at ATS.

Hahaha I was just thinking this! I checked the top flagged threads runner and THREE threads are 'I Hate AOC' threads. This is crazy... this is rivaling the Hillary and Obama hatred and she just got elected.

I don't like her, though, for the same reasons I dislike Trump... they are both liars. They both say whatever they need to say to fit their needs and if anyone checks them - damn them for doing their jobs! The weaker links on the left will fall for this mindlessly, the same way the weaker links on the right originally adopted Trump. And now it's too late.

I mean, she's not wrong.

We're already either rapidly approaching or have passed the point of no return when it comes to pre-industrial age global warming. We have to implement major and significant global changes right now to even try to leave a future for the children of this country and planet.

She is wrong, we do not know if whatever minuscule effect we're having on the overall climate can ever be quantifiable:

The signature of anthropogenic forcing in climate change has and will be superposed on internal climate variability resulting from a variety of physical processes (e.g., Hawkins and Sutton 2009, 2011; Deser et al. 2012a,b; Wallace et al. 2015; Kirtman et al. 2014; Collins et al. 2013; Knutson et al. 2013; Bindoff et al. 2014). At most terrestrial locations, a large component of the internal variability in surface climate change arises from variations in the atmospheric circulation (Wallace et al. 1995, 2012, 2015; Deser et al. 2014). On regional spatial scales, the internal variability can overwhelm the signature of anthropogenic forcing not only on year-to-year time scales, but on multidecadal time scales as well (Hawkins and Sutton 2009; Deser et al. 2012a,b; IPCC 2014). The signal of significant warming is thus expected to “emerge” earliest in regions with relatively small natural variability, such as the tropics (Christensen et al. 2007; Mahlstein et al. 2011; Diffenbaugh and Scherer 2011; Hawkins and Sutton 2012). Understanding and predicting the contribution of internal variability to long-term trends in climate is essential for both the adaptation to and the mitigation of climate change (IPCC 2014).

Quantifying the Role of Internal Climate Variability in Future Climate Trends

We might be having an effect, but it is about the same level as is the 'noise' in the data.

Yes, we pollute beyond what is reasonable and could certainly do a much better job at being good stewards of our resources, but it is hubris to think that we are having a greater effect upon the climate than the sun or other forces.

We have estimates on the amount of CO2 produced annually by volcanoes, but we have no idea how much CO2 is release from non-volcanic sources:

Earth degassing of non-volcanic CO2 has been proven to contribute significantly to the global carbon budget. The origin of this carbon is a mix of mantle and crustal-derived components.

Global-scale correlation between CO2 earth degassing, major faults, tectonic regimes and heat flux: a review and update

Assessing the probability and risk of migration of CO2 from a storage reservoir and its leakage at the surface forms a critical part of the evaluation of any geological storage site. Insights from small‐ and large‐scale demonstration projects, experimentation, numerical simulation, and natural analogues provide insights into the mechanism and processes controlling the flows of CO2; however, there are gaps and uncertainties in our understanding.

Migration and Leakage of CO2 From Deep Geological Storage Sites

We do know that CO2 levels were much higher in the past than they are today, but don't have a very good understanding of what drives those levels. To simply act as though we are the sole cause of such is ignorance of the highest degree.

No one wants to argue about whether the dumbing down of America is really happening any more.

We don't have to prove it. Just walk outside.

This is not about liking her or not, it’s about debunking her outrageous utopian pipe dreams which will not work positively and will only serve tomput us deeper into debt. If we are going to gripe about the debt as liberals did recently then don’t expect us to be willing to “just pay it” on a scale that is ... to use the agenda 21 term.... unsustainable and unacheivablw.

Nancy Pelosi manipulates. Bernie Sanders deceives. Trump gets the job done. You can chortle all you like, but until you have studied truly the real reasons we are where we are... your words are just hot air. Let me know when you’ve studied G Edward Griffin in the fed reserve and how it works... or Antony Sutton books on Wall Street and the Bolshevik Revolution or I know how about a college economics 101 textbook even. Let me know when you’ve read anything by Milton Friedman. Or you could read something like this www.technocracy.news...
