A.) Why represent something you don't approve of? Nobody forced her to wear clothes that embody capitalist excess.

B.) A member of Congress using the word "duh" is not a sign of progress.

A. Because it's the norm and we literally wouldn't be talking about this with anyone else.

B. HAHAHAHA... did you forget who is president? I wouldn't pull on that thread... I guess I'll just make the argument that it's endearing and a sign that she's a human being like the rest of us and uses our language to communicate. She also uses Twitter a lot ... oh god, the similarities are getting suspicious...

If she dyes her hair blond and starts turning orange I am out of here.

Trump is a sign of progress actually. But this thread is about AOC.

What exactly do you feel AOC brings to the table?

Something new and although some of her ideas may be naive about how the government works, at least she is trying.

Every other politician left or right have nothing new and make the same old promises that they have never even tried to fulfill out of fear of losing their seat.

The right though, lives waaaay in the past about everything. Their main target for them to attack are gay, immigrants, minorities (unless they prove useful) or whatever their constituents cry about. They need to understand the world is progressing and join.

Actually he is a sign of retrogression because we thought that no one could possibly be any more idiotic or be a worse president than Bush Jr. than voila along comes Trump

Can you tell me one policy or one move Trump has made that was bad for America?

Also, with sentiments like this:

You seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of what conservative politics actually entail.

Income inequality is also "the norm". I don't count this photo shoot against her necessarily, its "the norm" for people to pretend to care only when it counts, while seemingly oblivious of things that run counter to their message... I just think it wouldve been really cool if she took the opportunity to say "No." to this and couldve sent a powerful message... it would seem like an obvious choice for someone who claims to care about women and body image issues, wealth inequality, capitalisms pitfalls...

A fancy magazine shoot in thousands of dollars in clothing that most of her voters will never be able to even try on, let alone buy, because they would never be shopping in a store that sells thousand dollar + clothing items just doesn't seem like something you could go through with, without realizing the underlying messages you are sending run counter to what you claim to represent...

But at the end of the day, she and her handlers dont WANT to lose the power they hold over young girls who wish they could be pretty and skinny and wish they could afford nice things and be popular.

They don't REALLY want people to be free of those puppet strings. So, I predict that the powerful "No." message will never be sent by someone like her. She and others will continue the HRC tradition of pretending to care while proving otherwise with their actions.

So, I don't count this against her, this is just the norm. It would be asking too much for her to break norms. That's not what shes about. So it's not like this makes her The Devil In The Flesh... It's just more like "Eh... another politician... but now with Jim Carrey facial abilities." *shrug*

You have a good point though, we should not necessarily make fun of the way she talks. We are in an age of unorthodox politicians, and we should be thankful for the change.

Who is funding her meteoric rise out of nowhere?
Similar to Obummer no?
Out of nowhere he rises to presidency.
United Nations cut outs?

Promising you everything you want to hear.
For your vote.

You get quiet desperation,
they get rich.

Watch closely how she spends Taxpayer money on herself,
and defines those that disagree with her.

But she's got it right about one thing, even though
she hasn't figured it out yet,Billionaire Monopolies created
by sold out Politicians (special Interest money) does not bode
well for they average taxpayer. I figure they'll buy her out soon,
and she will go shopping a Tiffany's all the while claiming to care
about The Planet and its People. Driving and Escalade with a "Save the Whales" Sticker on the back.

She lies because it is not viable, and Bernie Sanders is a liar as well. Socialism, no matter how you want to dress it up, or call it "unicorn socialists for change" it will continue to be the same old socialism that has, and is destroying nations and causing billions of people to suffer.

And if everybody gets "educated" beyond their capacities, who would be left to do the labor jobs ?

In Scotland, anyone who lives here can have a free university education, there are plenty of people left to do the labour jobs, I'm actually hoping to get out of the labour market with the help of this free education.

Put that in ze vaporiser and puff it. If Trump came up with the idea you and about everyone else in this thread talking about the baby killin' Dems would be praising the move and you know it!

She doesn't bring anything new... She, Bernie Sanders etc are all regurgitating the same claims every socialist and communist has made in the past...

Those of you who think "they are bringing something new" are naive, and you want to ignore what is happening right now in countries that also embraced socialism.

BTW, as I was stating earlier my figure of about 10% of millionaires being multi-millionaires is wrong.

In 2010 there were roughly 2,000 Americans who made over $10 million a year.

Two Thousand Americans Made Over $10 Million Last Year

If now that number doubled it would mean that there "could be" roughly about 4,000 people who earn more than $10 million a year. Remember these are only "guesstimates."

So if 4,000 people in the U.S. were charged $700,000 a year that means AOC tax for her "Green New Deal" would only get about 2,800,000,000. So roughly she would get 2.8 Billion a year by taxing 70% to multi-millionaires whom make more than $10 million a year. Which will not be enough to pay for her "Green New Deal."

...
Switching to renewable energy would conservatively cost more than $400 billion annually.
...

www.bloomberg.com...

Trying to figure out your maths here, why would the number of multi-millionaires double from last year? The numbers don't work without you having to add double the number of multi-millionaires, in fact that does a disservice to what you're trying to prove...

Naw, I'll act however I want; thanks anyways.

That was a great rebuttal to what I said.

Wait a second, isn't it against the TOS to call someone a moron and harrass/personally attack them? Keep it up, and maybe you'll be the one that's out of here.

Not only is it viable, but I've already shown you how Medicare for all will save us money within 10 years. Almost every other single first world nation has some form of universal healthcare, yet for some reason, we can't do it?

It's no more socialist than welfare, Medicare as it is, social security, ect. or even *GASP* Public Libraries and Schools!!! Such evil.

C'mon, you don' really buy that crap, do you?

a) The alt-right doesn’t seem to understand the concept of magazine shoots

Actually we do... She is not a model, models are the ones who "don't get to keep the clothes most of the time..."

b) You don’t get to keep the clothes, duh

BTW, she now earns in excess of $175,000 U.S.D., so those are her clothes. Politicians are not lended clothes for photo shoots, clothes are only lended to models for photo shoots...

c) I don’t “pretend” to fight for a Living Wage & Medicare for All. I do it.

She can keep pretending to do so meanwhile spending more money on clothes, and earning more money than the large majority of Americans.

She is a liar, and a corrupt politician... The only thing she will "slay" is the economy and lifestyle of the U.S., and will she transform the U.S. into Venezuela if she and B. Sanders get their way.
