Urban Dictionary

As far was what federal charges he might be facing, for the hoax powder:

18 U.S. Code § 1038. False information and hoaxes

He could face up to 5 years.

In regards to the threatening letter itself"

(b) Whoever, with intent to extort from any person any money or other thing of value, so deposits, or causes to be delivered, as aforesaid, any communication containing any threat to kidnap any person or any threat to injure the person of the addressee or of another, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

18 U.S. Code § 876. Mailing threatening communications

Not sure what thing of value he might be hoping to get receive from it, this was what seems most applicable as far as the mailing of a threat.

But I thought he was a hero, who was super brave, and proclaimed himself as "The Gay Tupac", and stood up to racist, bigoted Trump supporters!?

Interesting, even just a few hours ago his siblings were saying the media was painting him, the "victim" as a criminal, while the true criminals were labeled victims (in actuality, the media jumped on this and called Smollett, the TRUE criminal, a victim. Quite ironic, isn't it?)

I bet more will surface as the investigation/proceedings move forward.

It can be.

Probably should be considering we live in a world where hate crime hoaxes are a thing.

According to Jussi, the punch cost him $3,500.00, with a $500.00 chaser afterwards.

He'll get probation and his part in this political farce will be over. I have a feeling he got some kind of compensation for agreeing to do this. Maybe that's how he got the part on the show?

Oh, he'll be back; his shift is over for the day.

Look for a flurry of posts in the morning tomorrow until around mid day then they dry up; there seems to be a pattern to the posting.

It's a sad commentary on society that I'm somewhat shocked that he's actually getting charged with a crime. It's about damn time the fakers of hate crimes face some actual consequences. Add the Covington kid's lawsuit (I still think he should be suing for a very, VERY public apology too), and it's been a pretty good week in that department. Maybe there's hope for us after all.

Jussie could be made the "fall guy" in this. Protects the REAL masterminds...like maybe a couple of Senators who wanted to get their anti-lynching bill passed.
