Until he speaks sarcastically then you all believe it at face value 100%. Like how he could shoot someone in the street

We knew it was sarcasm. What you don't know is that Trump knows how ignorant many of his supporters are. That is why he can run away with anything he says.

This has kind of came up on a few threads recently so I figured it could make for an interesting thread about how the orange sack of balls can’t take a joke like I can’t take a peanut, it’s like he is allergic to humour. That goes for some of his supports who are no doubt angrily taping away, triggered by that first line because some of them also can’t seem to take a bad joke directed against Trump either, they act like taking the piss out of Trump is akin to castrating their first born son and take it all very personally.

This is systemic throughout his presidency and it’s in stark contrast to other presidents who just take the joke and move on. For example, SNL took shots at both Bush and Obama, Bush was a moron and Obama’s got an awful temper.

Even Robert Mueller gets it.

And in this video, Pelosi is depicted as advocating 12 year olds having sex, makes jokes about "a black dude" and sex slaves.

Yet SNL do a sketch about Trump like this:

His response is to take to twitter and do what he usually does and tweet this nonsense.

Nothing funny about tired Saturday Night Live on Fake News NBC! Question is, how do the Networks get away with these total Republican hit jobs without retribution? Likewise for many other shows? Very unfair and should be looked into. This is the real Collusion!

And this is not the first time, he refuses to attend the White House Correspondents dinner, again because he doesn't like being laughed at, breaking a long held presidential tradition and then after it he Tweets this because some speakers made him the punch line of a few jokes.

The White House Correspondents’ Dinner was a failure last year, but this year was an embarrassment to everyone associated with it. The filthy “comedian” totally bombed (couldn’t even deliver her lines-much like the Seth Meyers weak performance). Put Dinner to rest, or start over!

Now I have said the before and will say it again this is a problem for Trump, the more people joke about him the more triggered he gets by it and the cycle repeats; make a Trump joke, piss off Trump, make another joke. It just makes him look bad not being able to take the joke when so many other presidents have been able to have a laugh at their own expense. I actually think the best thing he could do is approach SNL and ask to do a skit with himself and Alec Baldwin having a laugh, a little bit of self deprecating humour.

Remember, Obama once ripped Trump so hard that its pretty much stoped his 2012 Campaign

Now although that might have been a good one I still maintain that us Scottish are best at ripping Trump.

Now I know that I have posted this in the mud-pit and I do think its worth of serious discussion about the inability of Trump to take a joke but I would ask Trump supporters to keep in mind that this is still just a fun thread having a laugh at the same time. Although that I know that some Trump supporters can accept a joke about the almighty one about as well as Trump can accept a Mexican gardener with questionable immigration documents.

This is ridiculous. SNL isn't funny at all and it hasn't been in decades. It's the worst attempt at humor yet is still on the air. How does that happen?

These british talking heads should be talking about how their government and the EU is ruining their lives and working hard to replace their people and their culture, but instead they're over here talking crap about the President of the United States of America, in the form of lame jokes.

Most Americans aren't that stupid, NO THANKS COMMIES!

oH but we are talking about it , we have multiple Brexit threads on ATS with many of us contributing and debating

we have enough spare time and energy to stick it to the president for fun!

Americans have been brain washed so hard during the Cold war that the anti socialist stance is embedded into the collective psyche of Americans
anything socialist is bad and is communism which is just absolute rubbish

Why can't the guy who's attacked 24/7 by 99% of the media and libtards for two straight years just take a joke?

Another fabulous post! LMAO

Aye the ""COMMIES"" done it. LoL

If most, or at least 1/2 of Americans are not "stupid", or sadly deluded, how do you explain the current POTUS or division amongst your populace?

As to our government and the EU? Same crap slightly different wrapping paper, which will all end in tears, poor peoples tears that is.

Not all British, thank you very much.
You'd be surprised how much support there is for Trump here. The media here is the same though, so the easily led tend to get a bit over excited and repeat what they hear. They tend to be noisy, so it's easy to think that is the general view.

I agree with UKTruth, just can't be bothered half the time, it's the same stuff from liberals day in day out, Trump can't take a joke?! Hmm several appearances on SNL back when it was good, and also let's not forget this

Anyone who CANNOT take a joke would not do a roast, can't see Clinton doing one!

So if he can take a joke then why come away with statements like this?

Sounds like he canny handle some simple jibes if you ask me.

It's Trump that's "unfair" and "should be looked into", roast or otherwise.

Cmon if you were attacked constantly like he is you would be the same, no other prez got it like Trump does, he's already proven he can take a joke with the roast, funny how the liberals on that roast loved him then but not now, same reason why none of these liberal celebrity's out the abusers until the public find out and it's no longer beneficial to keep covering their crimes up, they are all enablers.

There has been no other POTUS like Trump, at least not in the last century, hence the attention and media circus he brings upon himself.

Twitter and 72-year-old, possibly senile, POTUS, simply don't mix.

Trumps funny, funny, haha, that's just the way of it, because if you did not laugh you would bloody cry.

Politics is broken, it's plain as day and staring us in the face, Trumps simply indicative of how broken democracy has become.

Democracy was broken long before Trump, it's clear though through undercover recordings and such the media machine didn't get their pick for prez so they attack constantly, even when he does something good, that's what I don't like, and I have liberal views I just cannot stand behind them morally

There is a difference between laughing with someone, laughing at someone and ridiculing someone.

I haven't seen an example of laughing with or at someone in the political arena in a long time. All of these bits go straight for the ridiculing someone. At this point, it isn't about "taking a joke". It's really about "why don't you let us ridicule, humiliate and demean you" and if you don't like it, you don't have a sense of humor.

We need to relearn how to disagree without being disagreeable. We are different. We believe different things. We hold different ideals. This doesn't make us good and evil! It just makes us different.

Talk to one another. Learn why people believe what they believe. Tell them why you believe what you believe. Find common ground where you can work together. Can you learn to agree on everything? NO. Can you agree on something and build on it? YES!

It is true we cannot see eye to eye on every issue, but I am sure that there ARE issues we CAN agree on, and work on those together. Once we relearn how to do that, perhaps we can relearn how to be civil to one another, even when we disagree.

So you beat your dog. Everyday. For 2 years. And then one day. You decide to give your dog a treat. You reach down to give him the treat and he bites you? You think what an a****** dog, you bit me? When I was trying to give you a treat? Why did you bite me? I tried to do is give you a treat? Why wouldn't you be nice to me, I was trying to treat you? Yeah, you wonder why the dog bit you

I know this will not be clear to some of you , and/or you will twist my words.

This is an analogy.

"We need to relearn how to disagree without being disagreeable."

One of the most relevant and true statements I've heard in a long time.

Hammer, nail, right on the head!

aye if you want to associate Donald with a dog , then fair enough I guess they have some things in common!

but he isnt, he is a human capable at least of thoughts above food source and getting Hangry!

He is the president of the USA and shouldn't sweat the small stuff, yet he drags himself into all of these petty fights

the old saying that " a wise man speaks when he has something to say , an Idiot when he has to say something " comes to mind!
