I'd like to see a free market, with a healthy Capitalist system with essential social services in place. But as it stands at the moment the West is a beacon for advertising the benefits of Communism. Because if it falls to far that's what is going to happen, it always does.

Yes, you're right. I over exaggerated a bit. The lesser Caribbean is more of a desert island scenario. But I always forget the size of Cuba, it actually has weather unlike most of the Islands are dependent on weather systems.

With that said, the only biodiversity you see in the Caribbean islands is when you reach a certain altitude, or of course in the water, down below.

that isn't recent memory but since you're on about world war II funny how you didn't mention Israel, Western Powers meddled there after world war II and we all seen what a great success that turned out to be!

Yeah it doesn't look good if you're anti-zionist/anti-semetic I suppose.

You're talking about the Caribbean here... literal desert islands. What does Cuba have to export?

Their main economies were sugarcane, tobacco, and tourism. Cuba was the every mans Hawaii to the US, and it thrived. They relied on the US tourist, but considering what happened to them. They do pretty well. And are on the rise again. Time will heal them. Communism was their main strife, and it's over.

Yes. So their economy was those things, but to argue that it was thriving without mentioning the constant cash infusion from Russia and other nations is disingenuous.

It won't be over until they are rid of the Castros and their legacy for good. Socialism will not make it better for them.

Maybe you're right. Pure Socialism isnt for every nation. But socialism shouldn't be void from a thriving society.

Is Maduro still holding oil executives hostage?

I couldn't find any updated articles about this.

Found this one from 2018.

The Reviews of Trump's President's Day speech about Venezuela and Socialism, is getting rave reviews.

Trump's "Reagan Moment": twitter.com...

It's a shame tabloids CNN and MSNBC didn't cover this powerfully effective speech, and in fact, have barely mentioned the it at all.

However, Fox News carried it live, from start to finish.

Notice how the tweet mentions socialism twice... not the idiot dictator once.

WAR on Evil axis!

WAR on Communism!

WAR on Terrorism!

WAR on Socialism!

Yea, yea we've heard it before. I thought Trump was anti war tho...

There's quite a bit of biodiversity on our islands. We're a bit desert like, but we do have a variation of flora & fauna.
