I thought you guys were all about "America first" we have seen the disasters of meddling in countries affairs. Is there any country in recent memory that is better off because of our meddling? Oh but since Trump is leading the way it must be a good idea this time around?

Congress passed the laws.

All Nixon did was sign the Damn things 🤣

And remember, Democrats controlled both Chambers of Congress when Nixon was President.

This is true.

Why can't Mexicans deal with Mexican problems?

One could argue we are just as responsible for one as well as the other, yet its ok for one to take care of it on their own?

Not advocating intervention of any kind, just wondering.

Um....

Venezuela's economy has collapsed. This is the result of years of socialism, incompetence, and corruption, among other things. An important element that mirrors the economy's collapse is Venezuela's currency, the bolivar. It is not trustworthy. Venezuela's exchange rate regime provides no discipline. It only produces instability, poverty, and the world’s highest inflation rate for 2018. Indeed, Venezuela’s annual inflation rate at the end of 2018 was 80,000%.

Yea, sounds like they are doing awesome!

They all look well dressed and well fed, in a Place like Venezuela, you would have to be an idiot to starve. But before Chavez took over . Their was no education no health care, and people actually were starving. A bit like Cuba before Castro took over. Which suffered the sanctions brought about by the USA the only hardships were during the time that the sanctions bit, before the economy adjusted as best it could. But we all know how this is going to play out.

Surely its more of a philosophical question. Especially as to what constitutes wealth, and being rich etc. Most of the American population are debt slaves paying off houses and car loans, they are first world and as miserable as hell. Is that the system that they want to bring to other countries. I would argue that this is exactly where your politicians and their masters want you to be, because it suits them financially. I don't think that their is an easy answer as to this pursuit of happiness, but the moment that an ignorant peasant gets an education, a lot more possibilities open up which benefit the individual and the state, that education in itself is paid for by the state and is a socialist function. If the people cant afford decent healthcare then if it isn't provided the investment in education to the state is a financial loss. Are those two things Commie?

You're talking about the Caribbean here... literal desert islands. What does Cuba have to export?

Their main economies were sugarcane, tobacco, and tourism. Cuba was the every mans Hawaii to the US, and it thrived. They relied on the US tourist, but considering what happened to them. They do pretty well. And are on the rise again. Time will heal them. Communism was their main strife, and it's over.

decent healthcare in Canada Healthcare is free unlike in America where as soon you have a child your charged with a bill. That's quite a decent healthcare wouldn't you say? Canadians are lucky enough to have such a good healthcare system.

By the way Max Blumenthal just went to an Opposition rally in Venezuela its rather ironic how well fed the Opposition protesters seem to be compared to their claims.

Cuba is not a desert Island, and indeed it will thrive after the US sanctions are lifted. If the cold continues you will need it to feed you.
