basically a 747 to launch fighters , there is even some blimp fighters in there

Seems like an obviously flawed concept, even for that era. In air refueling negated any need for such a system.

The idea was to limit the required number of tankers and their exposure to hostile forces. It's easier to get a small number of aircraft into range than the fleets you'd have with tankers and chicks was the thinking.
