Absolutely nothing wrong with a bit of nationalist pride. It just needs tempered with a touch of common sense. For instance.....Canada is good at something the US is not. I cant think of anything....but I am willing to give them props if someone can find something.
Oh
totally, having pride in ones country and background is good, as long as it’s not excessive, justifying of aggression, or putting down other cultures without good reason.

All I’m saying is that American exceptionalism is invoked by many people in a way that is either disingenuous for political reasons or low information. Having reasonable pride is not the same as “we are the best country in the history of the world.”

Its been used to justify too many unsavory things. IMO. And that is not to say we are evil. Far from it. The amount of peeps from all over the world who legally immigrated and contributed to great things is testament to our basic principals of you can make it big if you work hard.

However....those pesky ME policies and regime change things do dent the rep.

America is definitely not "the best" at a lot of things, and not even in the great category in many more.

The part of "exceptionalism" that matters to me is that we have our own history, that has shaped our culture. Those things make us "exceptions" to the norm---and that's not always a bad thing.

The American use of the English/Imperial system of weights and measures, the American understanding of a free press, or the right to be secure from unwarranted searches, or the right to bear arms....

Other people have contempt for those American exceptions. They wish we'd be more like one of the small, over-developed European nations, that are more mono-ethnic and have laws that synch easily with global trade organizations. They wish we weren't the world's largest consumer market.

To make a short story long, Europe wishes we would do their bidding, and WANT to be like them.

US being the exception is seen as a slap in the face to their way of life. Biden is music to their ears.

Sad thing about this? He'll be allowed "back home". The very fact he got to spew such/their nonsense in Munich, is because of "America". "European" history would, or could've been, very different. If not for real American men and women unlike J. Biden. Russia would've had Munich wrapped up and hog tied, without America. America probably should've let it happen. Democrats are emotional creatures, void of logic and mostly "educated"/trained like circus animals. To "think" on command.
It's sad because Joe, not unlike B. Clinton, could've been a good real MAN.. Both just seem to have to much emotional, "educated" influence to open their horizons.
That said? Joe Biden's love for Europe should make him stay there.

Right, and it comes across as arrogant to many.

While the us and populace isn’t evil, I do think there is a trans party establishment that does evil things, from proxy wars and invasions abroad to corruption and lies domestically. It is them and their lackies creating a lot of criticism abroad.

Some will say that many Americans apologize for their behavior or are ignorant. While true, the education system and media are largely whitewashed of much of what has happened, so many people really don’t know what is going on.

I think that’s fair. That kind of exception or uniqueness view is okay.

However, that’s not always how it’s invoked.

Pence sucked up Donald’s bottom so hard, that was a pain to hear.
„USA greatest here and biggest there, leading the world to a better future!“

Blablabla.

VP job is to support POTUS. and the USA.

The USA are on the way to major isolationism, pulling back from everywhere and Pence tries to doublespeak that.

and if Trump gets more involved he's accused, as the USA often is, of being an interventionist world-police bully. make up your mind, more involvement or less? imho the USA SHOULD pull out of some of these places.

Yeah, and he did it to his international colleagues. Who know the true facts, and weren’t impressed.

his internationalist colleagues in the I-hate-America club. screw those elitist idiots.

Biden Tells Europeans In Munich That America Is 'An Embarrassment'

With Trump as "president," it most certainly is an embarrassment, unfortunately.

I'm not breaking a lance for the Brave Neoliberal Order here, but you can double down on black budged madness and MICes on your own time.

Drain the swamp already and get your lame ass from my growing to-mock-list, Daddy!

So your answer is more government, where those black budgets love to reside?

And I'd love to drain it faster, but it seems many people love the insidious nature of socialism.

Not really. All the left media screams how trumps ruined everything, except they don't complain about their growing bank accounts and paychecks. Seriously how much more "but, but I don't like him!!! I stood with her!! Orange man bad reeee" I know your favorite morning show host doesn't like trump. That doesn't mean they have any real points.

Biden should be in the pedophile list, and in jail instead of trying to limit the rights of Americans and legal residents.

Clearly, Merkel found a niche for herself. Her position shows how self-centered and selfish she is. It's not that the historic American model was dysfunctional and over-extended, it's just now refusing to serve her. No, it's not about the best interest of the alliance,no, it's all about how she can prop up her own failed state.

But the USA is the best country in the history of the world. There isn't really even a debate to be had on that one.

Just my .02 Canadian cents.
