I was letting you know the song doesn’t say what you thought it said so you can rest easy.
If it didn’t rain in Africa there would be no jungles

guns n rosesLyrics
Look at your young men fighting
Look at your women crying
Look at your young men dying
The way they've always done before

Look at the hate we're breeding
Look at the fear we're feeding
Look at the lives we're leading
The way we've always done before

My hands are tied
The billions shift from side to side
And the wars go on with brainwashed pride
For the love of God and our human rights
And all these things are swept aside
By bloody hands time can't deny
And are washed away by your genocide
And history hides the lies of our civil wars

D'you wear a black armband
When they shot the man
Who said "peace could last forever"
And in my first memories
They shot Kennedy
I went numb when I learned to see
So I never fell for Vietnam
We got the wall of D.C. to remind us all
That you can't trust freedom
When it's not in your hands
When everybody's fightin'
For their promised land
And

I don't need your civil war
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor
Your power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain't that fresh
I don't need your civil war
Ow, oh no, no, no, no, no

Look at the shoes you're filling
Look at the blood we're spilling
Look at the world we're killing
The way we've always done before
Look in the doubt we've wallowed
Look at the leaders we've followed
Look at the lies we've swallowed
And I don't want to hear no more

My hands are tied
For all I've seen has changed my mind
But still the wars go on as the years go by
With no love of God or human rights
'Cause all these dreams are swept aside
By bloody hands of the hypnotized
Who carry the cross of homicide
And history bears the scars of our civil wars

I don't need your civil war
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor
Your power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain't that fresh
I don't need your civil war
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
I don't need your civil war
I don't need your civil war
Your power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain't that fresh
I don't need your civil war
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no uh-oh-uh, no uh-oh, uh no
I don't need one more war

I don't need one more war
No, no, no, no uh-oh-uh, no uh-oh, uh no
Whaz so civil 'bout war anyway?

I'm surprised they didn't ban this song along time ago..

Funny how some of the seemingly joyful songs have the hidden agenda/message and, everyone thought Ozzy was crazy. His lyrics aren't all that bad.

So I played both your Vids at the same time, letting them overlap each other. That was trippy

I bless it rains. I wish it rains....same thing.

Growing up there have been many themes of Africa having no rain and needing aid.

That Christmas song is the worse though

Do they know its Christmas time at all?

Feed the world ...

Let them know its Christmas time...

And there wont be snow in Africa this Christmas...

How sad??? Lol.

This song is part of the MiB II soundtrack.

Pictures of Matchstick Men - Status Quo, released on 5 January 1968

When I look up to the sky
I see your eyes, a funny kind of yellow
I rush home to bed, I sunk my head
I see your face underneath my pillow
I wake next morning, tired still yawning
See your face come peeking through my window

Pictures of matchstick men and you
Images of matchstick men and you
All I ever see is them and you

Windows echo your reflection
When I look in their direction gone
When will this haunting stop
Your face, it just won't leave me alone

Pictures of matchstick men and you
Images of matchstick men and you
All I ever see is them and you

You in the sky, you with the sky
You make me cry, your eyes
You in the sky, you with the sky
You make me cry, your eyes

According to Wikipedia, The "matchstick men" of the song refers to the paintings of Salford artist L. S. Lowry..... but... I think the songs lyrics describe the torments of someone who is a victim of alien abductions.... which is why it's included in the MiB II soundtrack.

This one is rather deceptive. You have to get almost to the end to realize it's a Hari Krishna chant.

John Lennon's Imagine.

As a youngster I was very taken by it, until I heard it was basically the Communist Manifesto in song (the ideology that killed and starved well over 100 million people).

Then I heard it was a multi-millionaire dude singing about having no possessions, when he needed extra apartments just for all his clothes.

And from Evita - "Don't cry for me Argentina".
One of my favorite torch songs as a "drag-kid", until I heard later that the Perons were just an eeny bit truly fascist, and all the homophobia that goes with that.

The classic Barry Manilow Song, I Write the Songs is very pretty but is it really about some entity (Satan) that possesses one to write songs? Don’t they say Satan was the chief musician? Song was written by Bruce Johnston

I've been alive forever And I wrote the very first song I put the words and the melodies together I am music and I write the songs I write the songs that make the whole world sing I write the songs of love and special things I write the songs that make the young girls cry I write the songs, I write the songs

My home lies deep within you And I've got my own place in your soul Now, when I look out through your eyes I'm young again, even though I'm very old I write the songs that make the whole world sing I write the songs of love and special things I write the songs that make the young girls cry I write the songs, I write the songs

Oh my music makes you dance And gives you spirit to take a chance And I wrote some rock 'n' roll so you can move Music fills your heart Well, that's a real fine place to start It's from me it's for you It's from you, it's for me It's a worldwide symphony

When I first read the lyrics to that song I was like damn, my parents wouldn’t let me listen to rock music because it was supposedly satanic, I had to listen to this garbage instead. Kinda a creepy song now for me when I hear it.
