Hi ATS friends, probably not much time to write.

But South Africa has been plunged into another power failure crisis.
Apparently it began totally announced on Sunday.

Apparently it was the worst stage 4 "load shedding" ever.
Some experts warn we will have a national black-out soon.

Who is to blame?

Sounds like they need to organize things over there better. Maintenance should be scheduled to rotate taking down units so there is little disruption of service. Power companies do need to have money and parts in reserve in case things happen.

Sorry , but that country is getting everything it deserves. They want to run all white's out but the only prosperity that country ever saw was because of white people

Get used to it cuz it's going to happen a lot more.

I love the part where he says "get to the bottom of it"
They know exactly where the shortfall came from and why it happened.

When he said "don't panic", what he was really saying is don't get violent and kick our official butts...

Can you say Zimbabwe. SA is Rhodesia all over again. The decent into mass stupidity has begun. This country is on the road to ruin. The white farmers should take Australia up on their offer and abandon this S**t hole Let them stave. We have ghettos full of these geniuses here in the former USA

Now they want blacks out too? Who is terrorising this country..
those pesky pink unicorns I bet...

I hope it's cooler days there, nothing worse than sweltering in the humidity on a hot balmy night. Time to invest in solar power and generators.

It's weird seeing you say, not much time to write.... I'm used to seeing you reply to yourself numerous times in a single thread.

Well, better use the time I have smartly until the next electricity or Internet blackout wisely at the moment.

Just came out of two hours of absolute darkness.

I had a torch and tea-candle.

And Internet takes even longer.

MY pc still not, trying to type from my laptop.

And they just dug up and covered half of the country in dust for fiber.

But nope, not likely to be one of those "introspective" mornings.

The impact of load-shedding on small businesses in SA.

Just since Sunday, it's ruined entire businesses.

My prayers are with you, for what it means. Stay safe and good luck. I feel for the South African people. I wish I had the resources to help...

Yip, now we got power because nobody needs it - the wee hours.

But come business hours tomorrow morning when the grid is under more strain - oops then it goes again, from area to area.

Now we had it before, especially 2014, so the bigger businesses have generators.

But we weren't sure it wouldn't happen this year (our reassuring
"POTUS" speech ) last week.

The candles, the generators and the batteries and everything was packed away, or unstocked (I admit).

I listened to the pink fairies that said: "Brother you can relax".

And as I sat in virtual darkness for two hours, I thought, I wished I never listened to that jack-ass fairy.

I had so many discussions, with ministers like Magnus as well as officers, when I lived in sa about what a cockup these wanker would create. Oh no many said, they would do fine. Rofl. Really glad I left in 1990. It was a truly beautiful country, but overrun with idiots and morons. When you see people trying to steal live wires running at 10kv+ from poles to sell the copper, you just have to know crap is going to go sideways.

Cheers - Dave

Great bro, but what's your point?

You think this is fake news?

OK, you keep on thinking that.

And to those who say we must move because of our mere existence - how far must we still move?

Off the planet?

Your doorstep won't be next?

I’ve been surviving through the new round of ‘load shedding’...
I believe the crisis was orchestrated...
6 generators all failing at the same time?

It seems Eskom employees did not take kindly to governments plans to split the state owned entity into 3...
I believe the workers have been protesting and preventing coal deliveries due to possible lay-off’s as a result of the restructuring.

Conspiracy much? Well this is ATS.
Rand has already tanked as a result, small businesses are suffering.
So mich for Ramaphosa’s promise to create a more stable economical environment to boost investor confidence.
Our country has so mch potential if we could just organise decent management.

And why are we still selling power to Zim and Mozambique when they never pay??
I think we should go cut those cables.

I'm not sure anybody can imagine such a thing.

Second time everything blows out, we're demonized in the press.

But when everything was gone again, it occurred to me.

I'm living on a white reservation.

Not to be disrespectful.

But that's what it is.
Political ciphers as long as we stay silent.
