Most of them had Hillary winning, or in other words, Donald Trump losing. They weren’t accurate at all.

Well they are never 100% accurate but if you look at it in terms of popular vote then the spit was about 46% for Trump with about 48% for Clinton so pretty accurate from that point of view.

Regardless, Trump has still been unpopular along all polls since he took office, you can't dismiss this as just being inaccurate polling when all the individual pollsters are drawing the same conclusions.

The fact remains: the entire polling industry was unable to correctly forecast the result. You can’t just accept this as being accurate polling.

Dude the polls were showing them both being around the 45% mark with Clinton usually a few points ahead of Trump, now am not going to go through all of it and work out the averages but the point is when you look at the popular vote they were resealable accurate.

They never predict with 100% accuracy.

The fact remains: the entire polling industry was unable to correctly forecast the result.

The results of Tuesday’s presidential election came as a surprise to nearly everyone who had been following the national and state election polling, which consistently projected Hillary Clinton as defeating Donald Trump. Relying largely on opinion polls, election forecasters put Clinton’s chance of winning at anywhere from 70% to as high as 99%, and pegged her as the heavy favorite to win a number of states such as Pennsylvania and Wisconsin that in the end were taken by Trump.

How could the polls have been so wrong about the state of the election?

There is a great deal of speculation but no clear answers as to the cause of the disconnect, but there is one point of agreement: Across the board, polls underestimated Trump’s level of support. With few exceptions, the final round of public polling showed Clinton with a lead of 1 to 7 percentage points in the national popular vote. State-level polling was more variable, but there were few instances where polls overstated Trump’s support.

I am not the best person to answer the question but immigrant comes to mind.

Is immigrant a legal classification? I don’t believe it is.

Citizen is, non citizen is....

Help me out here.

Oh my.......
Yes immigrant is a legal classification and there are several layers to the subject.

Keep in mind there are also people here who do not call themselves citizens at all and go by other legal classifications. Like i said it is a very lengthy subject and there is hours of youtube videos about it.

Even the irs has some type of classification they use in order to justify collecting taxes from anyone here regardless of status.

Nope I don't make random threads, as you can see,nor random posts, I tend more for quality over quantity.

Well I don't think I would want to get into a who write better threads kind of debate, but your threads are just as meaningless as mine or are you really so arrogant as to claim that your threads somehow have more value than mine or anyone else.

As for quality over quantity, if you look at a few of my threads I will accept that some of them can be quite short but for the most part they tend to get rather in-depth. I like to post as much supporting material as I can, I don't actually do it quite so much anymore just because I feel like it can be a bit of a waist of time now. But if you're interested I have written massive 10,000 word in-depth threads that take months of research in the past.

Trump is a two term president.

No he might be a two term president, he could be a two term president or he could get beat and be leaving office after his first term.

In your opinion he might be a two term president, you could say that in your opinion he will be a two term president because.....reasons am sure you have...

But it is not a fact, at least at this time, that Trump will be a two term president because he could lose the election.

It’s a fact.
He’s going to win.

I’m sorry.

I mean how are you going to look if he loses the election?

A bit like you did when he won in 2016. It wasn't a good look.

And again and again and again.

I don't know you UKTruth but it's pretty clear to me that we are two Brits who can see through the lies, the bias and the agendas.

Do I trust Trump? Not at all but I think it's pathetic watching these leftist weirdos clutching at straws.

I make a point of seeing through the lies and propaganda. After a while it becomes easy to spot.
Trump is a billionaire business man who became the leader of the free world. I actually wouldn't trust anyone who made that journey as far as I could throw them, but 99% of all the attacks on Trump are pure crap. Lies and propaganda spun by some truly nasty people, both in the public eye and on forums like this one.

The polls were skewed to a political bias.

It's par for the course.

But all of the polls even those with a more right wing bias reach broadly the same conclusions.

Well if that's the case then it adds further evidence that polls are nonsense.

except his approval is 52% after tge SOTU

No its not its 52% according to, rasmussen Reports its 52% but they don't have a reputation as being impartial and accurate pollsters, they have a politically right bias and consistently give Trump higher numbers than other pollsters and despite this struggle to keep him above 50% approval. According to their own index history Trump has barley ever been above 50%. When you look at the polling data collectively right now he is at 40%.

So , do you have any other US polls you go by ?
Folks from all US demographics seem to think that Rasmussen done an excellent job with Barry's numbers.

I tend to just go with collective polls that take an average across various sources. so FiveThirtyEight is pretty good and it does include Rasmussen Reports, who by the way, despite them having a strong politically right bias struggle to keep Trump above 50%, he has already dropped from 52% with them to 50% today.

Collective poll averages are a nonsense. All different methodologies.
Rasmussen is the only daily poll left. they have been fairly accurate in the past.
I'd say Trump's approval floating bewteen low 40's and low 50's is probably accurate. The 5-10% swings will be the independents reacting to the news cycle/current events.
trumps core base is about 40% and has not been dented at all by 2 years of propaganda. He's actually better off now than the night he won the election according to the polls.

Forums like this are the easy part.

In the outside world I have to bite my tongue so much. There is simply no point in getting into a debate about it.

As I pointed out to Other side of the coin earlier, we have our own problems.

There are probably other points I could get into but my only point with this thread is just to highlight to Trump’s supporters that while you may very well want him to win a second term, while you might believe it could happen, it’s not something that can be thought of as being an inevitability. Quite often the language that I hear around 2020 makes it sound like a win is already in the bag and that is almost what I think happened with the Clinton supporters back in 2016.

A couple of points....

1. 2016 had 44% of voters who did not vote for either Trump or Hillary. 27% republican to 28% democrats did vote for at lease one of them.

2. His SOTU ended up with that democrats 28% democrat base hated it, and the 27% republican base simply loved it, but the interesting part is 82% of independents like it too, and that could be a good part of the missing 44%.

3. If he tones down his tweets we have seen that the American public has only about a 6 month memory, so he can change all that for the good. As example...Don't build the wall!! but but the Democrats already voted yes on building it and much of it is already completed...say what??? I don't think the average American can remember last week...

4. 2020 will be another female push, mark my words, and unless someone comes along as a true leader they will not get the votes needed.

5. Democratic party is in disarray with full swings from moderate to far far left socialist. They better figure it out soon and if they push to far left they will not get the votes.

I think that this time they are going to learn from that mistake.

Ah the great sea of "independants"
Interesting to see so many of them like the speech, wonder if the "no socialism here" had much to do with that?

I really think democrats didn't do themselves any favor by keeping Pelosi as Speaker of the House. She's too political, but than again who isn't in our cesspool of government officials? In reality, both party leaders are extremely political and it's the major reason nothing gets accomplished on behalf of the American people.

Trump clearly has his base and he can do no wrong in their eyes to disturb it. Than there are conservatives who feel... "hey the guy's keeping his promises so he's still getting my vote!" I find this perspective rather disturbing considering it doesn't matter if the guy is destroying the basic American values this country was founded on, but he continues to divide the country to the point of creating internal instability and emboldening white supremacists and other hate groups. He can seriously damage our close alliances and his narcissistic and thin temperament can easily lead us into an unwanted conflict or God forbid a nuclear exchange! His removal of some of our country's long standing environmental regulation on industrial pollutants will only continue to damage and threaten our environment and climate for future generations. So in the end, the amount of good he's done, or the promises (or promises you think he kept) really doesn't justify taking this devastating risk to America.

(*The major promise he reneged on was his border wall, and that was his main campaign promise! I would think voters who supported this wall thinking in some ridiculous way MEXICO was going to pay for it, would now be outraged knowing the cost will be coming out of American's pockets not MEXICO's!) In addition his tax cut certainly didn't benefit the middle class or hard-working Americans.)

The way I look at it, Americans will make their bed and have to sleep in it. I still believe neither party has our best interests at heart. We're fools for thinking billionaires and millionaires can actually relate to the real problems Americans face on a daily basis.

Reading through the entire thread, I've come to the conclusion everyone is stupid and we will be paying taxes forever.

Now fight amongst yourselves, keep the scam alive!!!

I've seen the future. Trump will win, he will continue a landslide media led victory.

He will give us Cortez/Clinton, or whoever is the most polarizing communist, nazi psycho through the media to ensure a party lines vote and no third party.

Liberals will cry, the right will say winning, we all will lose.
