I think he will win again.
He is an idiot that panders to a base of bigger idiots and they swallow it whole.

If he runs as a Democrat you will vote for him..that is the extent of liberal IQ.

You dont see that beto guy call for opening borders..?

You don't see Kamala Harris talk about ablosihing ice

We dont hear Democrats turn to more socialism with promises of free college, free health care. Free income for the unwilling to work?

All those groups I mentioned are not hardcore Democrat voters?

I can name a bunch of republicans with ridiculous positions as well. That doesn't magically make it a position of the entire party. You are appealing to extremes. Conservatives ALWAYS use the slippery slope fallacy.

Gay marriage rights: OMG, soon they will allow people to marry animals or pedos to marry kids!

Border reform after kids snatched from parents: OMG, they want to abolish ICE and have open borders with no regulation!

Offering affordable health care and higher education like MOST western countries already have: OMG, they want pure socialism and we will become soviet Russia!

Giving tax cuts to the lower / middle class instead of the rich: OMG redistribution of wealth, communism here we come!!

Put the extremes away. Socialism is a buzz word used to scare people. Everyone knows capitalism is not going anywhere. Government should provide universal health care since 70% of the people want it. Education and healthcare should not be a for profit business, sorry.

The socialism alarmism is funny because they dump so much money into the military and nobody bats an eye. It's hilarious because throwing 900 billion at the military contractors coming straight out of our national debt is NOT considered socialism, when it totally is and the military takes up the majority of our budget. You can't be selective about what you consider socialism. Our military is socialistic, just like any government funded agency or program.

The only other option is anarchy, for the people that say taxation is theft. If you are so afraid of socialism, why do you allow the government to continue to expand it's military budget while complaining about things that literally cost pennies on the dollar in comparison?

Well you can leave to make room for the Billion or so who wish they lived here too.

People in 3rd world countries obviously would prefer to live in 1st world countries. Those same people would have no problem living in the Netherlands, Sweden, UK or dozens of other countries that have BETTER healthcare, education, and significantly less violent crime.

"The US is the greatest nation in the world," says nobody outside of the US.

It's a catch phrase based on propaganda. There are many great places to live in the world. Funny how NOBODY has yet to even attempt to answer the question about what makes this country the greatest.

Tbone? You are really struggling at defending your position. YOU said we are the greatest nation in the world and the statement was completely baseless. Acknowledging the reality that this country isn't the best, doesn't mean I want it to fall. Not being the best, doesn't mean the country sucks. The idea of our country being the greatest comes ONLY from within this country via propaganda that people just lap up like dogs and repeat everywhere like mantras.

LOL! The core dems and repubs vote their party no matter what. Pretending that is a liberal position is laughable. Trump only won because of low voter turnout, and historically that is the only reason republicans ever win. If Democrats don't run a complete garbage candidate like Hillary they will win. Hillary is barely even a liberal, modern democrats are more like moderate republicans now, so when people say "radical left" it really just means not super conservative. The scope has moved far right since Reagan. The Democrats need to run an actual liberal and the voter turnout will be high and they will win, unlike these recent garbage candidates that are liberal in name only.

@OP

Its pointless to obsess about approval ratings in a hyper partisan environment some 18 months before the show even starts.

The election will basically come down to two factors IMO - who the Dems nominate and whether the economy holds. If the economy folds, Trumps is done, period. If not he'll lose if the Dems manage to nominate someone who isnt a progressive socialist (or whatever the Republicans will come up with).
On Election Day Trumps approval rating will hover just below 50%. Where it has always been when the Reps come home and unite behind their Candiate/President.

Trumps main problem isnt that the left side of the populace hates his guts and will come out to vote against him, come hell or high water. Thats basically just about whether he looses the coastal states by ten, twenty or thirty points and how close Texas and the like get. Not relevant, no matter how much the Dems whine about the Electoral College.
Trumps actual problem are the voters who got him to the White House in the first place - the white working class in the rust belt.
IF the Dems manage to nominate someone that doesnt call those people deplorable on television and is able to convince them that Trump failed them, the rust belt will switch back to team blue and that will be it.
So as i see it, someone like Biden would be almost assured victory for them. He might not get a blowout in California or New York but be more than able to flip Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
On the other hand, running a more progressive version of Clinton probably wont change the map all that much.

NJ and pretend not to know about tbone? yeah right....
Greatest country ever!
Watching those of your ilk attempt to tear it down is comical.
Try all you like, barak could not get the job done neither will you.
We in the usa provide the most foreign aid on the planet, and it is not even close.
Stick that in your "propaganda" pipe and smoke it pal.

Still talking nonsense? No, I have never heard of Tbone. I don't give childish nicknames to people, who are you talking about?

Keep repeating your silly mantras and failing to defend them. It's comical. So now we are great because we give a tiny fragment of our budget to other countries that don't deserve it in many cases? How does that make America the greatest?? I completely neglected to mention the crime statistics in comparison to the rest of the world, which is another damning factor. Sorry, there is no evidence to suggest we are the greatest country. We are good, and I love this country, but the best in the world is just LOLworthy propaganda projected by simpletons.

So now we are great because we stupidly give our money away to other countries that don't deserve it?

no we give it away because there are people in need on this planet and we would like to help them;
rather simple really, not the slightest bit surprised you do not understand tho;
it is part of the reason we are the greatest nation on the earth

Says the person that is against social programs that would help the poor HERE like universal health care or affordable higher education...

Sorry that hardly qualifies as BEST nation in the world. It's a mantra, just admit it. We are a great country, not the best by a long shot.

And the right doesn't do this?

One example: Proposal to ban bump stocks, or for that matter limit magazine size on a pistol to 11 shots
Right Wing: OMG they are coming for my guns.. I'm going to the gun store and stockpiling guns and ammo.

You all act like this is all one sided.

As you pulled this directly out of your ass it smells as such.
Or will you be providing my quotes that state such?

The usa is by far the greatest nation on the planet.
None of the others even compare.

None of this has anything to do with why trump will be re elected in 2020 anyway, other than he is second by second, minute by minute, hour by hour, Making America Great Again which will easily ensure his second term.

Both sides do it, but yes, the right does it far more often. I should have used that example on my list there as well. Good post!

PROVE IT! You keep repeating mantras assuming they are automatically true because other people say it. It's like saying blue is the best color and then when somebody gives an argument for green, you just repeat that blue is the best.

If you are pro universal health care and social programs like free higher education you could have fooled me. And yes, the platform of universal health care is very important in deciding if Trump wins in 2 years. Whichever party decides to run on that will win decisively.

I have provided statistics just as you have, so it seems you repeating the mantra of its not the bestest is no different now is it?
BTW if we are not the greatest why is our president "the leader of the free world" and not any of those other tiny nations you referenced previously?

So you acknowledge that you just pulled your statement directly from you ass?
I am guessing it does not take much to fool you, as trump campaigned on reforming health care and the reform never made it past the senate. Bet it will be on his winning platform again in 2 years.
But even healthcare will not be the deciding factor.
It is the economy.
People vote with their wallets.
Always have
Always will
How is the economy doing these days?

What statistics? All you said was that America gives more foreign aid than others, while I gave several rankings of our nation in various categories that matter in direct comparison to other countries. Here's another one. We rank #4 in the world in sexual assault crime. I could go on naming fact after fact after fact that puts us behind other countries, while all you have is foreign aid, as if that is the be all end all.

BTW if we are not the greatest why is our president "the leader of the free world" and not any of those other tiny nations you referenced previously?

WHAT? "Leader of the free world" is another catch phrase. You are not good at this.

So you acknowledge that you just pulled your statement directly from you ass?

So, you ARE pro universal health care and free higher education? Don't even try to pretend. Now you are just being disingenuous. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that you are against both of those based on your previous posts. You are just upset because I was right and it decimated your point completely.

Yeah, people vote with their wallet and universal health care can save people TONS of money.

Also you mention economy and that is comical because the GDP growth rate has been the same as it was under Obama minus the first 2 years where he was recovering from the recession caused by the republicans that came before him.
