Been beat up and battered 'round
Been sent up, and I've been shot down
You're the best thing that I've ever found
Handle me with care

Reputations changeable
Situations tolerable
Baby, you're adorable
Handle me with care

I'm so tired of being lonely
I still have some love to give
Won't you show me that you really care?

Everybody's got somebody to lean on
Put your body next to mine, and dream on

I've been fobbed off, and I've been fooled
I've been robbed and ridiculed
In daycare centers and night schools
Handle me with care

Been stuck in airports, terrorized
Sent to meetings, hypnotized
Overexposed, commercialized
Handle me with care

I'm so tired of being lonely
I still have some love to give
Won't you show me that you really care?

Everybody's got somebody to lean on
Put your body next to mine, and dream on

I've been uptight and made a mess
But I'll clean it up myself, I guess
Oh, the sweet smell of success
Handle me with care

One of my fav tunes by this ensemble!

Made a thread about these dudes some months past.

I love this one...( seems fitting considering 3 of them have reached the end of the line so to speak.

Hey Sheye! It didn't hit me until I saw the vid that Orbison, Harrison, and Tom Petty still live on

I liked the way they all fit together. It wasn't like they were a "supergroup." It was more like they were a group of friends that enjoyed playing together and giving each other the spotlight.

My favorite video...Roy had died before the shooting of it. He was represented by the rocking chair with the guitar in it.

Yeah, sends shivers up my spine just watching that part as he is singing. What a brilliant idea Harrison had in bringing them together.

( on a side note I have to say I love the profiles of Petty and Dylan 😆. I have a thing for hooked noses ( don’t ask me why)🤷🏻‍♀️... but I think they are beautiful to look at. ) < why I’m sharing that piece of trivia is beyond me. 😏

Imagine they tried to make a group like this these days, would result in so much more jobs having to keep up with the vocals...

I always loved their song "End of the line" but only found out from this thread that the first singer I ever thought was brilliant "Roy Orbison" was a member too. (Born in 86)

Wow! What a group all the more!

One of my mom’s fav singers was Roy Orbison. Came to appreciate his talent through listening to her LPs of him.
She especially loved this tune..
