I prefer any vehicle I'm in to be in complete control. This pilot had just seconds to decide to either hit the hanger, or hit something else. So he avoided the hanger and hit the other ERJ-190. And VoilaπŸ€—.

There were two more ground collisions today. A KLM 747-400 winglet, and the horizontal stabilizer of a KLM 787 clipped in the first one. Both suffered noticeable damage.

In the second an Air France 777-300ER horizontal stabilizer was clipped by an Air Mauritius A350-900 winglet.

The El Al 777-200ER carrying Netenyahu in Poland was damaged during pushback in Warsaw. Unofficial word is that the parking brake was set when they pushed. The nose gear and skin near it was damaged.

(((Coughs))).. I know it happens more than one would think. But sheeshπŸ™„.

Now that the A380 is being phased out, there's no need to build bigger terminals for them. But the 777, 330's and other larger aircraft remain.

Solution? Remove (realign) jetways to allow for extra room at the international terminals? Situational awareness needs taught again. Or a yearly even bi annually AWARENESS refresher classes? These accidents cost a lot of money.

Better training, consequences, and hiring people smart enough to keep their head on a swivel.
