So by your rational what should happen, no sex at all? Should we take those who have sex out of wedlock and sterilize them? Oh you want those who have sex and are not prepared to raise a child to have that child and ensure that their life(both the women and child) is even harder than it already is. Or should they not have sex at all? Baby murder, is that affecting your ability to get to "heaven" or sleep at night or live your life? Most likely not, it doesn't affect you in the least you just feel you should be able to control all aspects of someone else's life. Keep screaming baby murder if it makes you feel better, it still has absolutely nothing to do with YOUR life. Hey you know what else the Right thinks is bad homosexuality how about we make sure the gays can't do what they want with their bodies. What about tattoos?, god says do not desecrate your body, ban that too. How about this you do what you want with your body and don't worry about what other do to theirs. There is a reason abortion exists, problem pregnancies, rapes, and unwanted pregnancies, all these issues have nothing to do with YOU. There was a problem and we as humans created a way to deal with that problem and if you don't support it than don't do it, why worry about what others do?

Seriously. You should think with Congress constantly flirting with single digit approval ratings people would be a fan of anyone willing to shake things up. And yet the people that constantly complain about Pelosi would rather side with her over the woman giving her the two finger salute.

It's amazing how many people on the Right have no faith in our political system. You actually think a single member of the House will be able to overturn our whole political system?

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has used a speech before finance watchdogs to expose the vast conflicts of interest which shape American politics.

In just three minutes the Democrat congresswoman laid bare the almost total absence of rules stopping lawmakers from being bought off by wealthy corporations.

“We have a system with right now which is fundamentally broken,” she concluded after her question and answer session with a panel of senior figures from campaign finance watchdog groups.

Love her or hate her you can't deny that she has a good point in this speech. There is nothing that prevents our politicians from being beholden to corporate interests over the people they're supposed to represent.

Of course most of us have known this for a while now but there's finally someone in Congress calling it out as well.

Our system is broken and it's time we finally get our elected officials to represent us and not the big corporations that only care about their bottom line.

She's calling out the swamp as Trump has done for more than 2 years, but she wants to regress this country instead of progress and bringing us together. And oddly enough, she wants these same people to pay trillions and trillions for her fantasy plans. I guess it's not her fault for being raised that way, but she never thinks before she speaks. That's why she butts heads with both sides of the aisle and wasn't voted to be on the climate change committee even though she's the strongest pusher. She's full of beans and is a bad representative of the dems. That's really bad considering there's not any good representatives of the dems. It's like being the worst of the worst.

She's mad because she hasn't been bribed yet, and she hasn't been bribed because (D) knows she's a 1 term house rep.

the objective is to create Chaos

the severe takeover of the government is a distant (but attainable) goal

A broken clock is right twice a day.

What she doesnt get is that government regulation is what often facilitates the type of graft and corruption she is complaining about. So logically, she needs to question why she is for more big government....

I just saw a video of her having this discussion and wow was that impressive. I know of her, but she is very much just a name for me right now although I have noticed lots and lots of threads mention her name. I guess I get it now, I can totally understand why someone who comes out and says stuff like this could be seen as either a very credible political figure or a threatening figure to others.

I really do believe that what she said about the power of big lobby groups is true, it always amazes me that for a conspiracy site its not something that's discussed more.

Interesting comments.

What does that really have to do with anything? Also what does what someone else's body have to do with you? If a woman chooses to get rid of a symbiote that she fears, does not want what difference is that to you? This drives me crazy with the right wing, you think that abortion is so horrible yet who do you think will end up paying for these unwanted babies? We all will, yet you right wing nutjobs are against any type of social programs to help the moms of children that were born to circumstances completely out of their(the child's) control because they don't have a choice because some half wit thinks they should decide what happens to other people bodies. We have control, complete control over one thing in this world, our own bodies. Screw all those who think they can tell me what I can and cannot do with my meat carrier, it is mine not yours.

You've got it all wrong homeboy. Republicans want people to take personal responsibility for their actions. If you don't want a child then there are ways to keep from getting pregnant. If you want an abortion then abort before the clump of cells become a child with a beating heart. We're not all about murder of an innocent child. Seems like that's a pretty simple thing to understand.

And yet less regulation (aka Citizens United) is what got us to this point. Do you really think completely removing the muzzle from these corporate dogs is going to suddenly make everyone moral paragons?

What is big government? Both parties keep increasing government spending. And seems to me that the right wants complete freedom for the wealthy and corporations to do whatever they want. And what they want to do is rule. The right supports the corporations so to me it seems the right supports the largest, most powerful unelected government in the world, as the corporate sector pretty much makes all the important legislation now anyway. And y’all want to deregulate them further.

She's basically the new female minority Bernie sanders. A win win situation and the beacon for socialism.

And it means the progressives are slowly moving away from the democrats while Nancy Pelosi tries to keep them together.

The tea party except with MSM support

That's what I'm thinking too.

Give her 15 years in office and she'll actually be an effective legislator.

She's a little too outspoken right now. If she toned it down by half she'd be ok.

FIFTEEN YEARS????????

If we don't let her take care of global warming, we'll be dead in 12. She said it herself.

To be fair I called this back in 2016. I said that if the Republicans acted just like the Democrats did in '08 (which they did) we'd just see a repeat of the Obama administration (which we are.)

The Dems have taken over the House (and will probably take the Senate in 2020), they're acting as the Party of No, and now we're seeing an "extremist" contingent (*cough* Tea Party *cough*) is starting to emerge.

You don't get it. The regs create an unlevel playing field and allow for the graft that she is crying about. While I am not advocating for total anarchy, what has happened is that legislation is used by politicians as a way to reward their donors. If you want to take that power away, as a necessity, you have to lessen the amount of unnecessary legislation / regulations.

It is much harder to get away with the kinds of scams she is complaining about when things are simple and transparent.

Markets are not perfect, but they tend to be far more fair than the unlevel playing fields created by politicians.

Big government is the unelected bureaucracy. It is the tentacles that make their way into every little thing that we do creating all kinds of unintended consequences (mostly bad).

I agree, the right (Estbalishment RINOs) has it's problems too with big government.

The bottom line is that more big government does not solve the problems created by big government.

My so extreme!

More like you should realize that if you do it, you are taking on the responsibility. If you are willing to be responsible for sex, you better be willing to absorb all the potential consequences. So if you don't want a kid, don't do it.

It's pretty simple.
