always amusing when these Green-Capitalists think that mas producing "Green Products" will save the planet, ignoring mass-consumption, Industrialisation, hyper-civilisation, technology etc

She doesn't ignore the technology, I saw her dancing on the Twitter thing.

I would point out here is if they screw up their "Green Revolution" here is what do they do when the renewables run out? The past week here in the Midwest we've seen days as low as 20 to 30 below zero. Now imagine the renewable energy running out during such a time.

They shoot stupid politicians don't they?

As cold as it's getting out here at times, we wouldn't be shooting them. We'd be burning them for warmth. Let's get real.

Are we sure Trump didn't write this as some kind of masterful act of trolling?
Rebuild or retrofit every building in the United States in 10 years? Eliminate the use of airplanes? Eliminate "farting cows"?

The Republicans couldn't have dared hope the Dems would launch a plan this stupid.
And to top it all off, AOC just waved away talk of what this would all cost (certainly many trillions of dollars) or how we could possibly ever pay for even a fraction of it.

Be interesting to see who is still willing to endorse the Dems in 2020.

I think by 'green' new deal she is just referencing the fact she is so green that she hasn't the slightest clue what she is talking about. It's very honest of her, but she'd have been better off calling it the 'Ignorant new deal', or 'wet behind the ears' new deal, or 'still #ting yellow new deal'.

Nobody even really likes her. Why? Because she was taught to think that whatever she says, people will be dumb enough to believe because it's something she herself would believe.

AOC, how will college be free?

Okay? Well then how will healthcare be free?

Hmm. Then what exactly is your platform and how will you reach out to America?

I find it fascinating that Occasional-Cortex was not placed in the Climate Change panel, although 4 other juniors were.

There is a war brewing in the Democratic party, for sure.

Maybe actual liberals have a chance at taking thier party back....

Oh wait... there are no actual liberals left there.

The actual liberals are more likely to be Republican these days. The Democratic Party seems to be run by an uneasy coalition of communists, black nationalists, and people on the take of Mexican traffickers.

Just like the democrats of the 60's. Only now their targets and party makeup are different.

I admit I've wondered if AOC is little more than a catfish... regardless, enough are championing her that it is obvious the left is fracturing under the weight of stupidity on one side and generational partisan loyalty on the other... the mantle is breaking and as long as you're not part of the crowd trying to balance on it, the fail will be glorious and a spectacle for the ages.

No, I think she's the real deal. Since I live only a few minutes from NYC this was one of the local elections that got covered fairly heavily. She won over the incumbent in a case of him not paying attention to constituents while taking them for granted and I think she was surprised by this so her plans are not exactly the most well thought out* since I honestly think she expected to lose.

Never underestimate a communist with even a little authority.
She's become dangerous and is an enemy of freedom with many followers, she scares me.

This is the perfect time to launch a third party. Maybe we can get the Starbucks guy to start one, appealing to the Dems and former Dems that are tired of watching the lunatics run the asylum.

There is not one forward thinking idea present in this proposal. It is all socialist gobbledygook. Why would you eradicate nuclear power when that is our current top clean energy option? That is the problem today is that everyone defaults to their ideological gods instead of listening the experts who actually study the issue. People don't even realize just how safe nuclear has become because they are locked into these insane ideological echo chambers.

And that doesn't mean we have to stay on nuclear forever. The point is to continuously innovate and move forward and soon enough the "problem" of carbon emissions will simply be a happy accident of real progress.

You're not going to solve the side effects of the industrial revolution by ignoring the potential of the next revolution we are already long in the midst of but for some reason are too ignorant to harness its immense capabilities.

I'd be perfectly happy with one party, Conservative governance, yes. Obviously, I'd be far, far from OK with one party progressive rule... then again, we tried that from 2008 to 2010, and it almost bankrupted the country, whereas we've done pretty decently under a GOP House, Senate, and Presidency over the years.

Alexandria ocasio-cortez said really bad things about Nancy Pelosi and the other senior Democrats in the house last month. The chickens are coming home to roost.
