Kudos to everyone for listening to others opinions without blowing a gasket and such.
I do wonder if you all would be ok if the military began to train in every major usa city so that they could be prepared if they ever had to be deployed on a mission there?

That is not a blackhawk.
I live in a 'small town' that is located near a training grounds, trust me you don't see a black hawk at night, you hear it first.
I don't know what is going on but I doubt that it was a black hawk, as for the event, practice makes perfect, EMT's make training runs all the time.

Regardless, the notion that the military should always be out of sight so as to not offend you sensibilities is asinine.

I did 30 days in NTC before Afghanistan. When I got to Afghanistan I realized that it was NOTHING like NTC despite the desert environment.
There is no training facility for modern urban SOF training.
Maybe we would be better served if the government stopped funding the armed forces unless there is a real invasion. We could then privately fund the military and then they could go fight anywhere they want if they got the funding.

Spoken like someone who knows nothing about modern warfare. Which, by the way, has been extremely fast and deadly since the start of the Cold War.

They coordinate with law enforcement to keep the training areas clear. It's kind of important to keep things like landing areas clear of people crossing the street, don't you think?
Just because you decide they're harassing citizens doesn't mean that they are. A lot of the people you have declared as being harassed actually enjoy watching the training, because they don't normally get to see something like that. Not everyone does, but it's far from harassment as you claim.
