How would Wray know what tipped CNN off?

I don't care for the whole "may have received" and "suspected to be" thing. I've heard it way too much while the left blatantly lied to smear anything that can be even remotely related to Trump. What we know for sure is that CNN was tipped off and we also know that the FBI doesn't get on social media to spread around their next plan so they HAD to leak their raid to someone. Either way, they should be held 100% responsible for being incapable of doing their job properly and sent on down the road. This is corruption and they shouldn't be allowed to remain a part of the FBI.

Was kind of obvious the way it all went down.

CNN in kahoots with gov insider leftovers and implanted operatives.

😎

I was wondering to myself how ridiculously stupid the people at CNN have to be to think this would get anything other than backlash. The people running that place, politics aside, have to be some the dumbest individuals on this planet.

Again, your article says "may have" when will Trump supporters on ATS learn, "maybe" "perhaps" "might have" in no way means it's a fact!!

That's all we've heard for 3 years and the left has always taken it as facts. Even when "anonymous sources" come out with hearsay. Get off your high horse and stop acting like your party is superior and would never take "maybe" as a fact. You sound ridiculous.

You all make some good points but I also think that an underlying issue in this whole debacle is a concerted effort to scare away anyone that might even consider working on Trumps 2020 campaign.

In effect they are trying to kneecap his re-election before it even begins by driving away any competent people.

This is some next level banana republic crap.

And the resident leftists and Stalinists cheer and clap like trained seals as it happens in real time.

Absolutely pathetic.

Trying to kneecap his 2020 run could be their downfall then, because the people who are more like Trump and have the balls to tell the corrupt ones to # off are the only ones who will stick around. Progressives are no stranger to shooting their own feet.

FFS dude, just stop. Someone tipped CNN off. If it wasn't the FBI then they have a rat in the woodpile. Unless your common sense level is zero, this should be well understood. There's nothing to defend so stop the whataboutisms or get out of this thread since you can't stay on the topic.

So apparently Weissman tipped off CNN on the raid on Stone. The issue here is not just the tip off but also what was provided to CNN - a copy of the indictment before it was filed and unsealed.

Weissman has participated in shady activity previously. This guy needs to be removed from government service.

Suppose someone at CNN was friends with an FBI agent and was told shortly before so that they were able to hastily get to the scene before it started. What difference does it really make? If things were opposite, in an alternate reality, and that was Fox news on scene with the FBI when they busted a liberal criminal goon, you'd say he got what he deserved and gloated about it. Maybe not you in particular, whoever you are, but the fuss would be flipped.

No it wouldn't be flipped. This corruption #s all of us citizens and we shouldn't put up with it no matter what side you're on.

If this is true it is really bad. It explains why so many armed FBI agents and armoured vehicles were there. They wanted to put on a show that millions would see. The problem is that kind of spectacle will have tainted the views of the people who will adjudicate on this case. It could be grounds for having the case thrown out.

OP, do you have a link for the Corsi comments?

Who cares if someone tipped them off?

If a Democrat was being arrested and Fox news was tipped off and on-site to film it happening, would any of you really care? At all? No - you'd say (and this probably close to verbatim), "Lol another big ol' nothing burger!"

Who.. seriously.. cares.

Sure. But in reality, if Fox News was tipped off and showed up before the raid, the MSM and DNC would be demanding answers as to why and how.

Anyways, I care. The FBI isn't supposed to go around talking about their plans. This is bad and corrupt no matter what side it happens on.

This is dumb. As documented by Archive.org, the initial version of the indictment posted on the Special Counsel’s website lacked the PACER header info and contained the indicated metadata:

web.archive.org...://www.justice.gov/file/1124706/download

The version with the PACER header wasn’t published there until the 26th:

Anyone remember Operation Mockingbird? Although they may not admit its existence today, rest assured it's still alive and well. Links below make for some interesting reading.

FBI agents conducting undercover investigations have now been given the green light to impersonate journalists, the Justice Department determined last week — effectively legalizing the government’s most notorious propaganda program, Operation Mockingbird.

Last Thursday, the Department of Justice Office of Inspector General published what’s become the subject of outrage for journalists, civil and constitutional rights advocates, and legal experts — “A Review of the FBI’s Impersonation of a Journalist in a Criminal Investigation.”

Allowing agents to infiltrate media organizations for any reason threatens to utterly undermine public trust, kill the very concept of journalistic integrity, and throttle the flow of information from sources and whistleblowers concerned with the legitimacy of journalists they contact.

How would Wray know what tipped CNN off?

He is supposed to present his response to those 5 questions, to the Senate Judiciary committee before midnight tonight. I'll check later and see if FBI Director Wray complied.

Anyone who wants a fair trial because this is clearly malicious prosecution. Put on a show to shock the public by sending dozens of fbi in full assault gear and tipping off national news to cover the arrest because you dont have a case. This is flagrant abuse the legal process by casting Roger Stone as a bigger threat than bin laden, when he poses no such threat and had not even been charged with a crime, much less a violent one. The arrest of the unabomber was not this crazy.

This pretty much sums up CNN's ability to report news accurately while remaining clueless as to why people think they are fake news.

I can't find anything online indicating that the FBI complied with the Senate Judiciary committee's request for more info before midnight Tuesday.

But as someone else pointed out in this thread, it certainly looks like Mueller team's Andrew Weisman is the one who tipped-off CNN on the up upcoming Roger Stone raid.

I'll reiterate that the version of the indictment originally posted on the Special Counsel's website lacked the PACER header and contained the metadata indicating the author was "AAW" with a created date of 1/23/2019 10:04:35 PM (first capture of it by Archive.org is at 11:40:53 GMT):

Stone Indictment

The version with the PACER header wasn't posted until the after 16:09:02 GMT on the 25th (first capture of it by Archive.org is at 17:16:43 GMT):

Stone Indictment - PACER

You can view the complete timeline of Archive.org captures here: Archive.org

In other words, anyone who went to the Special Counsel's website in the first 4-5 hours on the day Stone was arrested would have the version of the document that CNN sent to Stone's lawyers. So the claim that this somehow indicates CNN was tipped off before the arrest is without merit.
