Well, ile give Christianity this.

I always liked the "Lift up the stone, and you will find me there." turn of phrase from Thomas.

And there's also “The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be, and that which is done is that which shall be done, and there is no new thing under the sun.” in Ecclesiastes.

There is wisdom there, and in a few other passages and statements, it's just the crap and underlying control constructs that come with it that's problematic.

Then again "some people can read War and Peace and come away thinking it's a simple adventure story, others can read the ingredients on a chewing gum wrapper and unlock the secrets of the universe.” also springs to mind, and that was just Gene Hackman's Lex Luthor.

TextI have seen what organized religions does first hand. They forsake the poor, seek after riches of this world, teach mixed up gospels put together to keep the wealth of others coming in so they can live luxuriously. Not that i don't agree to that Hollywood, news, advertising and movies are also all about controlling our minds, but "They" learned from the best if you know what i mean.

God did not preserve to us his words to brainwash us. Men do however use God's word's to control or even brainwash people but not God.

The priest cast was limited to ISRAEL and then to just the sons of Aaron. The whole Roman Catholic Priesthood is a false religious construction, now there is a group that wants control not just you but the world. They stole the priesthood from Israel, the steal your salvation and put it in them, their group and in Mary.

They Media is pro-Roman Catholic and they learned from the best the RCC but they did not learn that from God or his word.

Then why does the Bible say the following at Matthew 23:1-10:

Seems a bit counterproductive for the Bible to teach that there shouldn't be a clergy-laity distinction in Christianity if people designed the Bible "to facilitate the priest casts control over the people" (the text above is not the only text that teaches that and warns for these types that like to be addressed by religious titles to distinguish and elevate them from and above the laity; more are discussed in the article above).

God IS The Light. Christ is The Light and Christ told us to be Children of The Light:

As for what existed before this universe, I don't have an answer to that. We're talking billions and more years ago, and there's this nice book that talks about our universe and its origins, that makes you understand that there was just "empty space/darkness" before this physical universe. But I really wish I knew more.

Where did The GOD who created light come from 😬🤔

Keep in mind that God is out of time and out of space, think about that and its implications. Think about timelines inside and outside of our timeline, same thing for the space. God does not have an origin, He is infinite. I know that the big answer should be far more complex than this.
