But if you were not attempting to attack religion you would know this.

I'm attacking hypocrisy and those who use religion to alienate people by projecting shame and condemnation on them while wrapped in myopic piety.

So then you have the statement from the school condemning or alienating someone? I'd be Interested to see that because I tried to see if the school did say something about gay marriage. I couldn't find it but I guess you did. So please post the statement they made that you attacked them for.

Or maybe you dont have a statement and you are attacking them because you believe all baptists are the same.

EDIT--
Oops, this was a reply to Sookiechacha's birth control post, but somehow that disappeared.
------

Eh, I'm part of the my-business-my-rules crowd; I don't see why it's a business owner's job provide insurance at all, and I don't think anyone should have to do something at odds with their religious beliefs whether they're Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Wiccan, or anything else. I also think if a business doesn't want to serve me because I'm a woman/I'm short/I'm middle-aged/I have blue eyes or they just don't like the shoes I'm wearing, then thats their right. Period. (And for the record, anybody who wants free birth control simply has to head over to their county health department.)

My original comment still stands; it sure looks to me like this boils down to "It's not ok to be Christian unless you do it privately." It also seems to me that a lot of people automatically assume that people who profess to be Christians can't possibly really believe what they say they believe--they must be lying to cover some ulterior motive.

Are there faux Christians? Of course! There are phonies in every segment of society, but we don't generally paint an entire group with the same brush just because of the assholes. I notice you jump to the conclusion that there must be all kinds of other "sinning" going on that the school just turns a blind eye to. Why? Maybe this school is sinfest central, I dunno--but neither do you.

And what truly boggles my mind about this whole thing --not just this particular incident, but the whole "It's ok to be Christian but only if you do it privately" movement-- is that the secularists have adopted the very same roles and attitudes as the religion(s) they so vehemently oppose; accept our definition of morality or else (we will publicly shame you, ostracize you, fine you, ruin your reputation/business etc.). How is this double standard not glaringly obvious? Can they not see that they are well on their way to becoming the very thing they say they hate?

The poster will refer you to the covenant agreements you sign in order to either work or go there as a student which cover the school's statement of beliefs.

Of course, to attend or work there, you go in with your eyes open.

That's because progressism to a certain extent has become the very sort of puritanical religion they claim to so abhor.

So they win games without playing, I don't have a problem with that. Ind if they are worried about their safety just tell them all the Christian parents are allowed to conceal carry so they will be safe.

The interesting thing is that this is EXACTLY what the Bible itself said would happen. It's really quite insane on its face, but from a faithful perspective it actually makes perfect sense..

YEP. They're a part of it and don't even know. I wonder how that feels.

Right on.

2 Timothy 3:1-4

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God

The dangerous part is that they don't see themselves that way.

I don't see why it's a business owner's job provide insurance at all

Too bad. Insurance and employment are inextricable tied together in our health care system. That's just the way it is.

(And for the record, anybody who wants free birth control simply has to head over to their county health department.)

It's not free, it's supposed to be covered by the employees' compensation package, that includes insurance. Most employees pay a monthly premium for their insurance, that's deducted from their paycheck. Also, women in rural communities can't just pop over to their local Planned Parenthood or community clinic, because it's hours away. Also, when an employer refuses to provide contraception coverage to their employees, their supposed to submit a waiver, so that their employees CAN use a Tittle X clinic and that clinic can be reimbursed through Title X. But, most of these employers see that as a bridge too far as well! Making more red tape for their employees looking for other outlets to meet their contraception needs

it sure looks to me like this boils down to "It's not ok to be Christian unless you do it privately."

For this employer, there is no privacy! What the students, their parents and the school employees do in private is the school's business. If a student, parent or potential employee has a brother, parent and/or friend that is considered LGBTQ, that they support, and have not publicly condemned, that student, parent and potential employee are not welcome at that school.
www.icsva.org...

There is nothing that Jesus said that can be construed to allow Christians to project condemnation and publicly shun other Christians who practice their faith through tolerance, inclusiveness, acceptance and support of their loved ones and how they express physical and familial love.

Are there faux Christians? Of course!

It's not about "fake Christians", it's about hypocrisy and cherry picking which sexual sins to condemn and which sexual sins to ignore. Mike Pence has no problem ignoring and excusing the blatant adultery of his boss, President Trump, or the girl on girl porn that his wife, the 1st Lady engaged in. God wanted Trump to be President. Romans 13 and all. But, a kid with a gay brother, whose Christian family loves and supports him, can't go to the Christian school where Karen Pence teaches, because..."sexual sin". That's hypocrisy!

Refusal of gay behavior is the way things have been forever. It's how most humans are geared. Normal life. Reality.

Of course they don't. That's the strong delusion bit that's also referenced in the Bible somewhere. I'd look it up, but I don't have time right now.

You know ... we sent our child to a Christian school similar to this one for two years, and no one ever inspected our private lives. It was expected that like good Christians, we told the truth when we signed the statement of faith.

Maybe in progressive world it's different, but that's what happens when you must ensure that everyone is living according to the PC, holier than thou rules.

There are plenty of Christian schools that don't discriminate against LGBTQ families or scrutinize their staff's community outreach and support to the LGBTQ community and their families. In fact, at least one of the schools boycotting Karen Pence's school is a Christian school. This isn't a "Christian" thing, it's a "bigotry disguised as pious superiority" thing.

Racial discrimination was the way things were forever.

Sexism was the way things were forever.

The quality of a belief isn't determined by it's longevity.

Lol. We'll better to lose a game than put your kids in danger, they shouldn't have to face bigotry while playing school sports. I wouldn't be happy as a parent, if a school put my kids in harms way.

But you'll obviously let them be brainwashed. Go figure.
