So school bring intolerant of LGBT is ok because 'christian values', but school bring intolerant of that intolerance is bad?

Where in the story does it say that the school is intolerant towards lgbt?
The protest is about an art teacher that works at the school, not the schools curriculum.

IMO, neither is right. If someone (or a group) is using tolerance, diversity, and inclusion as tenets of their beliefs, then they are hypocrites if they act intolerant of diverse ideas and decide to exclude those that do not believe as they believe.

Do you not see how this is the antithesis of their stated beliefs?

That is not a progressive attitude, but a regressive one....unless you are blinded by "your side" being superior to "their side"?

Nazi's wouldn't play against the Jews in Germany in the 30's.

Yeah, I'm bringing Nazi's into it because that's exactly how they are acting.

One of the schools certainly is

The 'protest' is about the first schools policy towards LGBT.

Its in The OP and the links.

Being intolerant of LGBT and being against that Inolerance are not in anyway equivalents.

So, the protesting school thinks it is OK to not welcome that diverse opinion and lifestyle. But rather, shun someone that thinks different? How is that being progressive and tolerant?

Fact is, it is not. And they are acting EXACTLY the same as those they seem to be protesting against.

Way to be hypocritical....how superior and progressive an action.

From the linked article

Donovan wrote that her school had played the Immanuel Christian School in the past, not knowing about its anti-LGBTQ policies.

Yes, yes they are most certainly equivalent. But, for those so blinded by hate and intolerance, they cannot see their actions are the same as those they despise.

Open your eyes, and let go of the hate. Embrace diversity of thought....isn't that a way of being more progressive than those that are intolerant?

If a school teaches that your students are sick or evil, why would you want to send your kids to play there. I get that some think they should continue to play to stand up to these outmoded beliefs, stick it to them, kind of belief, but at the same time is it really up to our kids to take on these battles? Keep them safe and keep them away might be the best thing for the kids.

You reality can't understand the difference between discriminatory policies and protesting against those policies?

Really?

No they really aren't the same. Being against intolerance isn't in any way the same as being Intolerant.

Would you disagree with a school refusing to play against another school that refused entrance based on race?

I guess the Christian School wins by default then? I mean if you don't turn up you can't win...

Private schools are a business, if they don't want gay kids or gay parents attending. It's their business.

Lol. We'll better to lose a game than put your kids in danger, they shouldn't have to face bigotry while playing school sports. I wouldn't be happy as a parent, if a school put my kids in harms way.

Not discriminating against people who love differently than you do isn’t some progressive left wing idea.

It should be basic human decency. And I really have to question the godliness of any belief system that says otherwise.

I think the parents are going about this all wrong.

Let's say you have a family that is racist.
You will never change the parents minds so why bother trying.
You change their children's minds.

Have your kids play their kids.
Let the kids develop a relationship.
Let them see how the parents are wrong.

Most hate is from ignorance so educate them.

I don't disagree with that view at all.

However if we talking about organised events (sporting or otherwise) then there is a sense that participating with a a discriminatory organisation is condoning it.
