* The largest bust w Fentanyl was at a common, everyday, boarder crossing in Mexico.

If our thousand miles of unchecked-no wall boarder is soooo bad....why didn't these guys use it?

Obviously...they could have because supposedly it's soooo bad, empty and easy...we need a wall?

That spot isn't the only spot they use to push their drugs across our border.

Nearly all drugs come through ports of entry, not the open desert. The largest ever fentanyl bust that occurred recently was a semi truck that was stopped at an entry port.

They could push that much, and probably do, with illegals crossing the border in barren areas with backpacks full of drugs.

I read somewhere on ATS, that the 5.7 billion only fixes the partial wall/fence/barrier that is already there, plus builds about another 100 miles of barrier.
That leaves a lot of open border still (as well as the US-Canada border)

It sounds like a waste of money, unless he gets plenty more billions.....

Yeah complete waste. Why bother decreasing most of the missing wall if you can't close the entire thing. By golly, if we can't close the whole thing up then we shouldn't close any of it up. Sounds legit.

Explain to me how to build a wall down the middle of the Rio Grande? It's 1,954 miles - the border is in the MIDDLE of the river. Take a look in google earth - You obviously cannot build it down the middle of the river, you cant build it along the side of the river. - I'd really like an explanation on how this would happen.

There are lots of unwanted alligators around here. I'd be willing to put them along the Rio Grande. Or they can just build the wall on this side of it and the little bit on the other side will still be ours. Besides, global warming (thanks to all us mean ol humans who fart and drive V8s) should dry it up within a few years. We'll all be dead in 12 anyways, according to the intelligent, bright, huge mouth, big teeth, googly eyed Cortez. The true wolf in sheep's clothing. My what big eyes and teeth you have!

what about the Real Reason the "Right" wants to only build a Wall around Mexico

Is slowing illegal immigration down some sort of crime?

What's the real reason the left don't want a wall? You guys were all for it before Trump pushed the issue. Why not now?

Because one of El Chapo's amputation specialists said so?

Because numerous witnesses testified to this fact. The cartel is still running, is as powerful as ever and former members have testified that as long as there is a demand there will be drugs smuggled in.

So we shouldn't bother even trying? It's like spending $5.00 to test something out.

So we need a wall to, at least help, stop (some) of the illegal narcotics “pouring” in the US from Mexico.

Regardless of the fact that expert opinion indicates that most of those drugs are being shipped in through regular ports of entry.

Unless you’re willing to build a wall at least a couple THOUSAND FEET TALL, it is ridiculously simple to hoist a half ton (about 1000lbs) over any wall you might build with nothing more than a thirty foot helium balloon.

The more solid you make your wall, the better cover it provides the balloon.

Helium balloons don’t, by themselves, show up very well on radar, and for a simple “up and over” operation, exposure would be a couple of minutes at best: not much time to establish a “lock”, especially in a remote area.

Isn’t that where a wall is supposed to do the most good?

Heck, if you wanted to save money (and use a smaller balloon) just use hydrogen instead of helium!

But remember: Abosolutemente NO FUMAR!!!!

Y'all really do have some the most retarded excuses I've ever heard. Helium balloons? Sure, and if the corner store at the border wall is all out of thirty foot helium balloons, maybe those impoverished citizens can just whip their private jet out of the garage and fly it over.

*cough*

"Liberals want to murder their accident babies."

Are you implying that those who identify as Christian can't be a liberal or vote Dem? Like you're trying to throw 2 things down here and pretend there's a correlation. It certainly doesn't invalidate my original claim.

Really, what assumption did you start with that made you think this was some sort of ace in the hole post?

Who is starring it? I'd like to know what they think to.

I am...bemused.

A true intaker of the brainwashing propaganda. Remember, Republicans all cling to their Bibles, therefore liberals can't identify as Christian.

However, this is a definitely a democrat thing and there are plenty out there that self identify as something they're not. So his crap post really isn't anything other than throwing doo doo at a wall and hoping everyone is just as dumb and will miss it.

My solution would be to make drugs legal and the addicts will take care of themselves. All we have to do DNR when they overdose, unless they pay for drug overdose treatment 'in advance'

Will murderers take care of themselves if we make murder legal? Drunk drivers driving drunk? Resisting arrest? Rapists raping? Legalizing will only pile onto an already piled up problem. You can't fix a problem by adding more problems.

If we put a wall up, the impoverished citizens of a third world country could easily buy a tank and blast through, or buy an industrial saw and saw through, or buy a 30' remote controlled helium balloon and send the drugs over, or hop in their speed boat and go around, or jump in their prop jet and fly over, or tie onto a drone and float over. All of these things can be bought for 10 pesos or less at every corner store along the border. Therefore using less than a percent of the budget to make it harder is just a darn waste of time. Ain't you know?

Same for anyone who thinks legalizing all drugs will stop anyone from doing them. But a wall isn't just about drugs. Pay attention to something besides the MSM.

I didn’t say it was a complete waste. The billions $$$ that America spends on wars, foreign aid, etc, - some of that, redirected, could pay for the wall. The government shutdown cost more than what he was asking for.
It might cost less for a 25 billion dollar wall, than the mess created by illegals. Even the name of “illegal immigrant” doesn’t sound right. How can they be an immigrant if they’re not legal? How is it legal for illegals to be there? Oxymorons all over the place.....

I’m not against a wall, I’m not even against a wall on your northern border.

That quote is the exact same thing Trump is calling for. A wall in some areas, a fence in others, increased patrols in others.

More mental back-flips. Cute. Care to try a mental cartwheel next?

Except it isn't to stop the phantom drug trucks barreling across the desert. Anyone who thinks a wall in the desert is stopping drugs is most likely taking them.

It's a bit more than $5 and even if it were it's a waste.

We do nothing to address the main issues, that more Americans are hooked on opioids and that synthetic opioids come across our border at ports of entry. The majority of the people arguing this point on both sides are putting their egos and politics ahead of the issues.

I'm still trying to figure out how you know that. You've already admitted you've not ever even seen the border, you obviously have never driven a truck, and you don't even have a desire to go see for yourself. Yet you are some sort of expert on the border you've never seen and trucks you've never driven.

I dunno... CNN?

I thought they intercepted those? How do they know unless they found them? Are the drug cartels publishing a list of what drugs they import somewhere?
