Video Showing Russian Su-27 Flanker Turning Into A U.S. Air Force F-15C Emerges

I'm surprised no one posted this one sooner. But it looks like a SU-27 got a little aggressive with an F-15. The video below shows the SU-27 turning his craft towards the F-15 and the F-15 moving away to avoid collision.

I posted a link to a youtube video that shows the footage and linked to twitter with a shorter video.

The video is less than a minute long.

A clip that shows a Russian Air Force Su-27 Flanker aggressively banking into a U.S. Air Force F-15C Eagle has appeared online. It’s not clear where and when the footage was taken but, provided it is genuine (it seems so), it was probably filmed in the Baltic region, when the U.S. Air Force F-15C) were supporting NATO BAP (Baltic Air Policing) mission.

Looks like a pretty stupid move by the Russians

Didn’t look aggressive to me. Almost looked like it was choreographed.
That F15 later went inverted and took a Polaroid of the Russian and then gave him the bird.

Looks like the Russians are trying to get back the dangerous hot dog crown from China after this little gem.

Not a fun game to be playing.

They both play these games. He puts in bank way before he begins to turn, and he doesn't put much turn rate on until the Eagle already decides to skeddadle. Looks worse than it was.

I have heard some world class Cold War intercept stories from a few naval aviators that would make this look very tame.

a plane refueling in mid-air has more distance between each other than the two fighters in the video.
Imagine If American/British fighters were doing this back to China and Russia.

I've heard the stories too.
It was pretty stupid then, it's still stupid.

Especially when its submarines instead of fighter jets.

This really didn't look that unsafe to me, to be honest. I mean, certainly not routine any more, but it's a much tamer version of the game both sides have played for decades.

They also used to flash centerfolds back and forth. Fighter pilots are a randy, untamed bunch. What's a guy to do with his time when they take away drawing phallic symbols in the sky? They inevitably turn to shaking their giant winged penises at eachother.

In the 1980s it was routine to have Soviet MiG-23s and Su-22s react and intercept our RC-135 over SOJ international waters and even get inside our wingspan.

Came to see fake video of SU-27 morphing into a F-15C. Now I am disappointed.

stupid Russians.

I don't think people REALLY understand what you're trying to say.

As someone who has worked with Russians, I understand.

Should have blown the Su27 out of the sky.
Russia couldn't do a damn thing about it.

Nothing but an escort moving another aircraft away from his protectee. Nothing dangerous there. The Flanker pilot and the Eagle pilot both handled it exactly how they should have.

Stop ruining it.
I want to see an F-15 and Su27 go at it.

Vid was buried in the "Fun Video" thread.Probably looks worse than what it is.Pilots are pretty well drilled in how to handle themselves professionally in the sky.Its a game thats been played for many years. The Cold War never ended as far as that goes.

When people say things like that is just looks the complete oposite. I think is dumb to always try to do this my phalliplane is better than your little cute bird. And it will never happen anyways so it just works for mstrbtion purposes
