Often like in our convo both parties will be saying perfectly reasonable things but those that are popular or better known on ATS get way more stars. It’s the same issue one sees with Facebook likes.

I'm confused where the stars thing comes from.

I thought Obummer care was supposed to fix that. Democrats running on health care platform is ludicrous . Now they need to admit it failed or why would they run on it again. Socialist health care will be the ruination of this country. Where to get the money. Tax the rich? That won't put a dent in the cost. Tax corporations more? They will leave again just like when Bush, Clinton and Obama were in office. Tax small business more? I am a small business and I will shut my doors as it is already expensive enough to keep employees. The real answer is just what President Trump wants, bring more manufacturing back to the US. Stop illegals from pouring over the border. Make the lazy entitlement takers who VOTE DEMOCRAT, work for God's sake. And you name one program just one program that government has taken over that is run correctly. Communism is just that government deciding when you live and when you die. Shove it commie!!!!!
Yes, you did waste your time, because by now we know that the Democrats are not interested in unity or harmony, they are interested in having their way, which is ultra radical and just plain communist. Soooo real political

I like a lot of what you do on ATS, but..........I think you've been somewhat mislead by that website you referenced.
There isn't an extant 2020 Dem Party Platform. You can see the extant platform at:
There you will learn the following:
What follows is our 2016 platform — our most progressive platform in our party’s history and a declaration of how we plan to move America forward. Democrats believe that cooperation is better than conflict, unity is better than division, empowerment is better than resentment, and bridges are better than walls. This party platform was voted on and passed by our membership at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia in 2016. The platform will be updated and re-approved at the 2020 Democratic National Convention.
Did I waste my time reading the damned thing in some misguided effort to prove your talking points wrong? No.
The reason I didn't is two fold. First, the two major parties have long ignored their party platforms. They are therefore mostly meaningless tripe and "feel good" rhetoric. I am actually unsure if anyone reads them other than extreme political junkies and why? Because, again, they're ignored.
The second reason Party Platforms are really of no importance whatsoever is that US political parties are NOT genuine Political Parties. They function more along the lines of social organizations, complete with store fronts and signs and membership applications. Thus, they don't function like real political parties. There's no "party discipline" and there's no mechanisms within the parties to enforce any "party discipline". As such, there are Democrats in the Republican party and vica versa. There's no rigorous promotion of ideology and no enforcement of ideological purity. Thus for example, my "Republican" Congressman votes PRO-ABORTION, and by the same token, I've seen Democrat candidates proclaim themselves to be PRO-LIFE.
For examples of REAL political parties, look to Hitler's Nazi Party, Sadaam Husseins Baathist Party and of course the Russian Communist Party of Josef Stalin.

Genuinely can't understand anyone who doesn't want to raise taxes on the wealthiest among us.
'I might be rich one day too though!' is all I can come up with.

Thank God we got all you tea partiers, uh I mean alt right, or Trumpeters telling everyone what the Dems, or liberal are doing. Not like you need to be focusing on yourselves, not like y'all won the last election or anything.
