Might not be so flippant about it, if you were riding with your niece through Del Rio Texas and had to explain why people were hanging off a bridge with bags over their heads because cartel members decided to send a message to anyone in Del Rio that doesnt play ball........

If you're against a wall, the next logical step would be to have existing walls removed.

Who said walls don't work? Most against the Trump wall are against a giant 70 billion dollar steel edifice. What would be smarter than a giant wall that Republicans seems to think will magically fix all immigration issues? An intelligent targeted plan to actually address the real problems of illegal immigration.

That might include barriers at hotspot crossing points - technology or manpower at other junctions - and then more intelligently addressing the rest of the issue, which includes dealing with the over 50% with work visas staying past their expiration date, or dealing with drugs where they actually enter our country - which often are legal ports of entry, boat, or even underground.

No solution is not a solution - who is asking for that? Also one expensive wall is not the solution, either. Trump and his supporters are living a fantasy if they think this will even begin to address the problem. With the money targeted for "the wall," a LOT could be done to address ALL of the problem. It's just false that "all the left want open borders" or "the left advocate crime!" What stupid comments. How about formulating something SMART.. instead of saying "Well, a giant wall can't hurt!" That's not a solution.

This morning, Democrats said they wouldn't negotiate the 2019 budget further, unless the deal included illegal-alien criminals being released from detention centers!

The negotiations came to an abrupt halt, with no plans to resume.

The drugs coming in to the USA from Mexico is causing the deaths of thousands of people yearly. And the Mexican government is unable or unwilling to stop it by destroying the cartels.

The situation is the same as if Mexico has already declared war on the USA by not stopping the cartels, which cause the deaths of thousands of Mexicans yearly as well.

So the USA is in the right to conduct military incursions into Mexico targeting the cartels. Wipe them out completely.

And either the Mexican government helps, or gets out of the way.

It is already a war under way and the people of both countries plus even Canada are the victims.
