U.S. Plans To Keep Forces In Syria’s Al-Tanaf – Report

The U.S. is considering a plan to keep some forces in the al-Tanaf base in southeastern Syria to counter “Iranian activities,” despite President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw all American troops from the war-torn country, the Foreign Policy magazine reported on January 25 citing officials.

“Al-Tanaf is a critical element in the effort to prevent Iran from establishing a ground line of communications from Iran through Iraq through Syria to southern Lebanon in support of Lebanese Hezbollah,” a former senior U.S. military commander told the Washington-based magazine.

The Trump Admin once again caved in to John Bolton, Macro Rubio, Graham, the Military Industry Complex. Once again breaking his own campaign promises of getting out of the middle east and Syria.

This whole notion and goal to counter Iran through Iraq in Syria in the occupied area of Al Tanaf is doomed to fail. Hezbollah already has the support of the Syrian general populace. Hezbollah Forces don't really need Al Tanaf to send their supplies into Syria.

The Military Industry Complex will highly fail in Syria again.
Very bad.

Your right but at least Obama refused to continue or go further with their intervention in Syria. The elites are upset when he failed to proceed with his red line threats.

I may be wrong, but Trump never seemed well-read on foreign affairs. That would leave him open to getting played to the master minipulators of foreign affairs..

Not sure how people don't see red flags being raised whe he said "I would consult myself " in regards to foreign policy. (Morning Joe 2016)

Kind of scary when a man thinks he knows it all already..

People rightfully complained about Obama's frequent drone strikes and u.s. expansion. However, it looks like trump is looking to top obama on being another pawn of the war dogs and the military industrial complex..

Its looking more that Trump caved into the threats by the TPTB whom were threatening his family. So Trump is just doing whatever they are pushing.
This is why he backed out of the withdraw from Syria/Afghanistan they want the wars and occupation to continue.

Possibly. I am of the belief that trump is over his head. Naively navigating the foreign game. General_________ tells trump we need more drone strikes with more moral flexability? Well, Trump says okay because General________ said that will make him look good.

I don't believe trump was ever a anti - establishment swamp drainer. I think he had good intentions with a massive ego.

Anyway, I'm starting to rant. Just my opinion though.

Trump made a big mistake when he hired bolton.

And I don't think he realities it yet.
