In this type of case, the late term abortion, they are killing a child that could possibly live on its own.

Late term abortions are never done because the mother changed her mind. That's not legal in any US state. Late term abortions are always done save the health and/or life of the mother. Healthy late term fetuses are not aborted, if they are healthy and the mother is at risk, that are taken by C-Section. This law doesn't change that fact.

The doctors really should be required to make every effort to save the life not kill it because it's easier.

They are and they do.

It's still early, but that is the dumbest thing I've seen on ATS today.

Who would kill their mother if born. I'm not advocating the killing of grown children and I'm happy it's not my decision to make.
You're way too emotional to have a rational look at the real choice this is about.

That's right people.

Except when it comes to bald eagle eggs.

More valuable than a human Life.

An acorn is not an oak tree.

Nope. Rarer and more endangered.

Were you ever an embryo?

What's subjective about death? Have you even read what this is about? It's not "feelz"

Oh come on please you know at a certain stage of your development nobody would have been able to tell if you'd be a pig or a human, yet you eat them.

What argument? Are you arguing against abortion altogether, here, or are you arguing against New York's new law? Because, I'm arguing that the law changes nothing. It reinforces Roe V Wade, should it be overturned. Are you arguing against Roe V Wade too?

What's subjective about death, I would say consciousness being life or not. If your asking about health, when you get into emotional health is as subjective as it gets as a doctor cant really tell a person what makes them feel better or more comfortable. Emotional support alligator for the win.

Because ownership of an inanimate objects where its sole purpose is to spit out lethal projectiles at stuff is the same as a woman and her medical professionals and counselors deciding if abortion is the right course of action.

Yea, I can totally see why they are comparable.

But you rather make this about the ownership of something and someone elses body than letting someone decide for themselves.

I used to have this radical idea about ending abortion.

It was teaching people a thing called, "Personal Responsibility".

It was about making decisions about intercourse and potential ramifications of such an act. It was about taking responsibility for their actions, instead of abdicating responsibility.

But responsibility is hard.

It's too much for weak people I suppose.

So the option to simply kill babies is easier than taking responsibility for actions.

It would be even better if you could teach people the responsibility to not rape.
It would be even better if you could teach our own genetics not to put ourselves and our mothers at risk when we are living in them.

It really is black and white, if that's how you choose to view the world. Unfortunately for the rest of us, real life is a lot more real than that.

Maybe I don't remember.

That's not what I said though is it? Up to a certain point the development of all embryos is the same, so surely what sets us apart from pigs must happen after birth.
