McAfee, who is presently on a boat fleeing U.S. authorities, explained in a video posted to Twitter that he has not paid taxes in some time.

“I have not paid taxes for eight years. I have not filed returns. Every year I tell the IRS ‘I am not filing a return, I have no intention of doing so, come and find me.’"

He continued: “Today, January 22, the IRS has convened a grand jury in the state of Tennessee. To charge myself, my wife, four of my campaign workers, with unspecified IRS crimes. They want to silence me, I will not allow that,” he said.

Your cause is just John McAfee, and you're right that crypto-currency will sink governments by preventing them from collecting taxes, monitoring payments and forcefully taking your money.

Essentially, it will drown big-government in the bathtub. Something I not only support but stand behind 210%.

McAfee, who started his career at NASA, also weighed in on cryptocurrencies, stating that they will at some point, "come head to head with governments," adding that "governments will no longer be able to collect income taxes" and that governments would have to "shrink and find new means."

"We will at some point be at war. We are today at war," he added.

If only more folks had the courage to take the stand Mr. McAfee is taking. Risking everything to do the right thing, and to stop throwing money to band-aid the hemorrhaging. Only through very serious, difficult and tough changes can the major fixes this country needs be applied.

Government, in its current form, has no place in that future. And just for good measure, # IRS scum. They still have yet to produce the relevant section of the US code requiring payment of direct, unapportioned income tax despite their non-ratified scam. Our people used to know how to deal with these types of things. It is a sponge, it is a leech and it is the scum of the Earth. And may it never rest in peace.

Your cause is just John McAfee,

Really ?

“I have not paid taxes for eight years. I have not filed returns. Every year I tell the IRS ‘I am not filing a return, I have no intention of doing so, come and find me.’"

So you support rich tax dodgers ?
Isn't he still wanted for Murder in Belize ?

From what I've read on him Mr McAfee is not a nice person yet you feel his cause is just.
Wow.

I support all tax dodgers, yes. I'll stop supporting it when government stops throwing the money away.

Time to slap their hand away like a child until they get their act together. I'll reconsider then, and only then.

Until then, drown it in the bathtub.

I mean I don't agree with all that taxes are spent on either, but you can't just pick and choose what laws apply to you. You are a U.S. citizen? You pay taxes. Otherwise, you are breaking the law. Definitely don't feel bad for the rich who do this either.

I agree with his opinion on cryptocurrency though.

a group of people taking your money with the force of death....I am ok with anyone who wants to go up against that.

why do you think the people that make more money deserve to be threatened more by government?

Why do you think I think that ?

If Dave or John or Pete who work in a factory have to pay their taxes then McAfee and his rich mates have to pay their taxes , lets face it McAfee and his rich mates can afford accountants to see to it they pay less than Dave or John or Pete anyway.

I think he is reprehensible. He is a tax dodging bigot of the worst order. He has been very corrupt and is a fugitive of American Justice.

Just because he is into Bitcoin does not make him a hero. It will never sink the establishent. If they want it they will assimilate it like the Borg. They are actually using Blockchain already in banking. HSBC have been doing billions in transactions using Blockchain methods. That for me is the most useful part. It has all manner of applications digitally for protecting information though ironically without the anonymous part. My ideas are that it could be made not anonymous so everything digital has a fingerprint and we can know where it has been and from where it came. This would be very useful for digital security generally and universally, allowing for discovery of counterfeit information, foreign propaganda and fake everything digital in the widest sense. It has potential use for identity related applications like passports, driving licenses, et c too. They just need to take the anonymity away so every change a digital entity undergoes is recorded into its signature as is its creator and any subsequent edition. The Blockchain has a bright future in terms of world currencies and banking. The Bitcoin will be a dinosaur of a kind, just an experiment that preceded digital development and evolution. Blockchain ironically would be the best tool for keeping tabs on everything digital - potentially.

The will not want to have a world single currency yet because they make too much money buying and selling currencies and the commission on exchange.

No IRS tools who refuse to present the relevant statute permitting their collection of a direct, unapportioned income tax should be locked up.

For infringing on the Constitution, if nothing else. Should carry the death penalty, to be honest... any violation whatsoever (no matter how intentional/unintentional) should carry a death sentence. It would deter government from walking that thin line of legal vs. illegal with no consequences whatsoever.

Damn right.

There is a word for that: Armed Robbery

The taking of something of value under the actual or threatened use of force/violence

These cowards deserve a needle in their arm. A very public one, at that.

Wow.

Income Tax is nothing more than legalised extortion and a form of slavery.
Mcafee's cause is just, even if he is a very strange fellow.

For the people by the people, I think some Militia man-Washington McWashington-no wait-wrong it was the biblical character-shoot wrong again.

This is why we need to continue to procure old documents via FOIA or elswhere, otherwise future generations could see such things as the emancipation proclamation or the Warsaw pact as 'fake news.'

There's a documentary where they interview latin women that he paid to let him lay underneath their hammocks.
Pretty gross.

But yeah, I wish everyone in the country did this (the tax stuff, not the scat stuff) at the same time.

You mean the 16th Amendment which was ratified by the states and upheld by the Supreme Court?

Unless you're some sort of freeman on the land type that thinks it doesn't apply to you.
