I admire a lot about her. Im not at all physically attracted (i think she is caricature like), but her tenacity is something I really like. Just wish it was used for individual freedoms instead of socialism.

Agreed with the latter.

I do think she has brought out the claws in some cool ways, and shown grace in others.... And sometimes she just puts her foot in her mouth, but I do like her moxie.

That said, I think her presence is important, even though I disagree with her.

There is no question we need more diversity in our government from other places other than the establishment left or right.

We need to see more people succeed or bring good points to the table, or fall on their face. In the end, competition is what makes better results for the consumer.

You are an "it getter". I hope it starts to spread as we see more diverse viewpoints start to be elected.

As usual the press can't even get the facts straight. That's not an awful sounding cover of "Blitzkreig Bop" it's an awful sounding cover of "Do You Wanna Dance". Still wouldn't vote for him but at least he looks like a normal kooky kid here. My punk band was better btw

Absolutely. There are very few real leftists in congress, ala Sanders or AOc. Greater representation of different ideas is healthy.

Same is true for the right. I haven't seen someone represent the right truly since Ron Paul. Looking back on his debates and platform, I don't agree with him as much now as I did then, but he walked the walk, and didn't just talk.

The right is the supposed "bastion" of smaller government and less regulation, yet the establishment right want to regulate the bedroom and our bodies.

The establishment right champions themselves as reducing handouts but supports corporate welfare.

The establishment right claims they are aggressive against federal spending yet war hawk for trillions of dollars.

I could do the same for the establishment left.

But the point is, both are just bastardized vessels to accomplish their agendas, which have nothing to do with anything positive for the masses, just a few.

Right, that’s why I respect the libertarian types on the right more, as they seem to hold more consistent positions.

I always found it laughable the establishment republicans would cry about freedom and hating big, oppressive gov, yet be all for endless wars, hundreds of military bases, mass surveillance, etc. that’s not only as big brother as it gets, it’s probably the worst type of government overreach.

And, as you said, many of them historically wanted to suppress freedoms such as sexually and let’s say substance use.

So much for personal freedoms.

I recognize that most libertarians are better on this.

Just like I respect true liberals more than Democrats.

I don't agree with Bernie on quite a few things, but I can admire his consistency and conviction.

Obama and Hillary were just using talking points to look like they weren't a different flavor of Bush... But their actions say otherwise.

Agreed, I’m an independent liberal who recognizes that the establishment dems are fairly sold out, from also supporting US neo imperialism to being Wall st shills to supporting mass surveillance.

Now combined with many mainstream dems now supporting deplatforming, censorship, and big brother in the form of the Cia and Fbi, I feel very
alienated.

It’s real hard to keep faith in people when they are so partisan or just totally brainwashed.

For sure, and we see it from both ends on this site, and then we see those who are willing to have honest debate.

I admire just as many partisans on this site as independents. Some who are convicted are willing to say when they don't like what their party is doing, and point across the aisle when the other is doing something right.

That's what we need, as we are all in this together, and right now, we're all falling together.

A sorry attempt to appeal to a subculture. Unfortunately for democrats conservatism is the new punk rock. No matter how hip they try and appear. No amount of hot sauce or beer drinking will wash away their inability to connect with the average joe.

I will admit, I may have "over simplified" his actual statement, but I am basing my response on what I hear him say.
I guess this is much like some on the left also do when passing on quotes.
