Republicans have voted EIGHT times to not reopen the government. That means they've voted eight times to not let government workers return to their jobs.

But sure, the Dems are the bad ones for not voting for this ONE bill.

Nope an out and out lie.

Next!

The democrats probably just realized that all of those government workers are getting a paid vacation of over a month (maybe to be 6 months, a year, who knows). So they are probably just doing what they think is responsible so that they wouldn't waste taxpayers money.

Hey lets look at it this way... they are removing any doubt at all that they don't care about the workers... if they did they would have passed it.

Just heard on radio: Pelosi tells Trump he can NOT come to "Her House" to deliver the SOTU next Tuesday.

My, my, Little Nancy, aren't we getting possessive? You are just a squatter; it's OUR house, you political hack. You should lay off the Botox, old girl, it's damaging what ever is left of your brain. I am waiting for the day she does the perp walk in restraints from the speaker's podium and out the door with CSpan recording. Hopefully they will walk her through every aisle so it takes longer.
Maybe she is tempting him to come so the Dems can walk out, en masse, and insult him...or worse. Nancy is a snake among snakes.

This should be front page news. Whether you agree with the shutdown or not, no matter who you blame, these workers could be getting paid. The only reason they are not getting paid now is because of the Democrats. But this can't be reported because it would take away all of Pelosi's leverage on Trump. We all know the media is biased, but this is nothing short of them taking sides with Pelosi.

There's already a Democratic-proposed bill on the table to reopen the government and would fund the government through February 28th, it's expected to be approved but it's "dead on arrival" in the Senate and a vote is going to happen next week.

Why would they vote yes on this GOP bill? The GOP bill doesn't include re-opening the government. The Democratic bill does.

Which would ultimately be better for government workers?

From your article: “This is a political stunt to distract from the fact that Republicans are about to vote for the ninth time to keep the government shutdown,” a Democratic aide told The Hill on the GOP motion.

It would seem that Dems aren't the only "CALLOUS" people in the government, since the GOP is repeatedly voting to keep it closed, keeping people from their jobs, and from earning money.

This.

This.

That? The part they can all agree on, to pay the workers, got voted down by Democrats. Democrats refuse to compromise one iota. Trump has come down from wanting 10s of billions of dollars to a little over 5. They're still on zero. In the meantime though, while they're absolutely refusing to compromise, these workers could be getting paid. Pelosi said no.

What are we up to now? DACA recipients, abandoned by Pelosi. Temporary protected status, abandoned by Pelosi. Federal workers, abandoned by Pelosi. No amount of spin will change any of those facts. The back and forth is ongoing, but until that's resolved, these workers can either be paid or unpaid. They could've gotten paid, if the Democrats passed that bill. That's ALL that was in the bill. There was no pork no riders, nothing controversial. Democrats voted no on a bill to pay the workers. Period. Accept it. You got played, AGAIN. You thought they actually gave a # about those workers. They don't. They care about resisting Trump. They'd toss you off a cliff if they could blame Trump for it.

The bill would allow for people to get paid whilst the politicians argue of the use of border security funds. Who in their right mind would be against that?

The republicans have been against that all month.

Here are some house passed bills to allow for people to get paid whilst the politicians argue over the use of border security funds.

So according to you if Trump would have never stood his ground and just given into democrat demands this shutdown would be over?

Why has no one ever thought of that?

You some kind of genius or something?

So the Senate wont vote on silly bills but the dems wont approve back paying government employees and that is your argument?

Honestly it seems like a waste of money to pay them and not have them work. Wouldn't it be better for the country to just reopen government then?

You know what?

*I* don't think it's worth shutting the government down over the wall, but I blame the Democrats for this.

This is $5B, it's a rounding error on the budget, and it's for national defense (border security). The histrionics Nancy is having over this are not worth it, but there we go.

I would say it's not worth it, but not for the reasons MSNBC want to portray it as.
