West Nile continues deadly march: Deaths in N.Y., Michigan, Ohio, Illinois may push fatalities to 20

Aug. 24 ó Authorities in Illinois, New York, Michigan and Ohio reported four more deaths they suspected were due to the mosquito-borne West Nile virus. If confirmed, the four cases would bring the number of U.S. deaths from the disease this year to 20.
