45 million people right, you guys totally under estimate the economy right now we are headed into really dark territory

We had better build a wall to keep those undesirables out, or in, or at least just away...

That is why Pelosi has a wall on her estate, yes?

A wall is a deterrent yes, it won't stop those determined to get in, the main deterrent and reason people aren't climbing her wall has more to do with cameras and security, police and laws.

The ecomatically malnourished, could probably use a good old fashioned riot flogging.

..

What is that supposed to mean? If I read it correctly, it sounds very lacking of compassion, something I suspect is at the root cause and mindset of the one's who rule over us. It's not just crackhead joe and bertha on stamps anymore. I work in retail and it almost seems almost everyone has a card. Just to be clear, I thoroughly despise people who abuse the system, but there are many good people who have worked their whole lives, and have never needed it, who are on it now.

The vast majority of US citizens already have that.

We call them homes.

while those that at the risk of not having enough food for the family to eat is concerning . I believe the bigger risk are those recipients that sell theirs so they can get their fix. Without having the fs to sell they will have to rob and steal to get that money.

It doesn't take much to get into the modern home compared to a border wall. To compare the two is logically flawed. Plus you have to leave that home sometime right? Thats like having a border wall in sync with the sun, goes down at night, then raises back up during the day.

People when desperate will throw all common sense out the window, yes indeed, the smart play would be to make sure it doesn't get to that.

If people get desperate enough those homes will not be safe they will be targets.

People who are not abusing the system will be okay. Those are the people who when they get their allotments on their cards go shopping and go store to store catching the sales and stocking up on necessities rather than blowing their benefits on expensive meals and junk foods. They stretch their shopping dollars are far as they can and their families eat well because of it. Those who abuse the system will be in trouble because they blow their benefits on expensive items and tons of junk when their cards are first loaded (I worked at a grocery store several years and witnessed it very frequently) and then hit the food banks and churches later in the month when they run out of food- and if the government doesn't re-open for March rather than having carte blanche at those places they will have to wait in line with everyone else who didn't get benefits. Should be interesting to say the least!

So saying that walls keep people out is logically flawed.

~blink~

This is why I am now of the opinion that the Progressives (D and R) just need to take over as soon as possible.

Let's get that economic collapse going RIGHT NOW... that way we can start rebuilding without the idiocy as soon as possible.

This is possible. I can certainly hope there would be LARGE demonstrations in US cities and major centers to get the Government working again as millions will be affected by this.

The trouble is that there is an abject apathy among Americans and a disposition to not wanting to get involved in protests etc. This might change when people and their kids are starting to go hungry and getting evicted from low income housing.

This shutdown is affecting millions more than the 800,000 Federal employees not getting a paycheck.

It is possible that there will be riots, but more likely there will be large demonstrations first.

Remember, the states that take the most from the Federal Government in the form of aid are mostly Republican states.

Red states tend to benefit a lot more than blue states from Government assistance, despite the claims of GOP to the contrary.
