It won't be a problem so long as the offers don't continue. All it takes is one offer, or maybe two with the second being the same offer extended again. Heck, he could make the offer again but make it less favorable to the Dems as time goes on and remind the country that his last offer was more generous.

We're just used to the Republican way of doing things, but if this were the strict Republican way, this shutdown would be over already.

I had some hesitations about the declaration of a National Emergency going forward.

Now it's a given, handed to Trump by Pelosi herself.

He should declare the state of the Congress to be a National Emergency and reaproate defense money to paying the salaries of groups like the coast guard, TSA and air traffic control.

Offer furloughed Federal Workers new positions in a work program. It does involve physical labor in adverse conditions ... you know, construction work along the southern border.

Nancy Pelosi only wants security at the ports of entry evidently.

Here is what she is saying today:

What is original in the President’s proposal is not good. What is good in the proposal is not original. Democrats will vote next week to add additional border security funding for ports of entry, advanced technology for scanning vehicles for drugs & immigration judges.
2:44 PM - 19 Jan 2019

twitter.com...

Nancy Pelosi has got to know that the drugs coming through the ports of entry are decoys. The cartels let just enough through to keep border patrol and law enforcement busy, but the REAL bulk is transported over the open border and through the massive tunnel and cave structures underground.

Nancy knows this. She is distracting the dumbies with her "advanced" technology/scanning port of entry security focus.

She's full of BS and is probably getting Big $$$ to keep your eye looking there instead of looking here.

PELOSI - SCHIFF - WATERS

It's crazy that three of the Democrats now in charge of the U.S. House are the biggest criminals imaginable. Crimes ranging from bribery all the way up to cold-blooded murder.

President Trump will not allow the citizens of this nation to be under their control for very long.

President Donald J. Trump’s Plan to Reopen the Government and Fund Border Security (White House site)

Partial quote...

RESPONSIBLE GOVERNMENT FUNDING: The bipartisan and common sense legislation proposed by President Trump will reopen our government and secure the border.

$5.7 billion to fund a steel barrier system, including embedded investments in technology and roads, on our southern border in the priority areas cited by Border Patrol.
This is in addition to the more than 115 miles of barriers already built, replaced, or contracted under President Trump.
$805 million for technology, canines, and personnel to help stop the flow of illegal drugs, weapons and other contraband. This includes:
$675 million for drug detection inspection technology to help secure our ports of entry.
$130 million for canine units, training, personnel and portable scanners to help deter and detect smuggled narcotics, weapons, and other dangerous materials.
$800 million dollars in humanitarian assistance, medical support, and new temporary housing.
$782 million to hire an additional 2,750 border agents, law enforcement officers, and staff.
$563 million to support our immigration court system, including hiring 75 new immigration judge teams to reduce the immigration court backlog of 800,000 cases.

INDEED!

McConnell says the Senate will vote next week on the proposal presented by President Trump today.
Source: www.washingtonexaminer.com...

Even though he announced this 6 hours ago, none of the liberal MSM outlets are reporting it, even though it's BIG news.

If the Senate passes the plan, the House will then vote.

Pelosi delivered an 8 hour "Dreamer Advocacy" speech on the House floor in 2018.
www.nytimes.com...

As Speaker, will she now tell House Democrats to reject President Trump's plan to give "Dreamers" 3 years of protection from potential deportation, just to prevent construction of a border wall that protects Americans?

House rejection would continue to keep 800,000 government employees from receiving their paycheck. If they are not paid this coming Friday, it will mean a full month without receiving compensation.

Not exactly sure how this bill would be able to originate in the Senate since it deals with government funding and I was under the impression that all spending bills had to originate in the house, but will be watching to see what comes of this.

And once again the Democrats abandon the DACA crowd to play politics.

Thus proving that the Dems dont actually care about those people and are only interested in maintaining the status quo, namely wide open borders.

Traitorous scum.

Courts have already ruled that Trump cannot stop DACA, so basically he is giving up nothing. A 3 year extension is nothing in that context.

Ninth Circuit has ruled on DACA. SCOTUS hasn't. The Dems might want to take the 3 year extension.

She must be very creative with her measly little income. Although, I'm sure it's all legit, yes?

This is great. $20 says he knew they wouldn't take the deal. Now they gotta tell their constituents that they didn't do a damn thing for a $30 billion DACA deal over $5 billion.

He's giving them every opportunity to come to the table and end the shutdown. They keep turning their noses up to it.

At this rate, moderate Democrats may try to end Pelosi's speakership before its really begun.

I need some more popcorn.

That's one of the things that pisses me off the most, is that they will say no, just to say no, regardless if it's an acceptable deal or not. The bonus for us taxpayers is that we get the privilege to pay for them to play their games. It infuriates me beyond no end that I have to pay the salaries for people like Pelosi, Waters, Schumer, etc and all they do is piss and moan and point fingers at each other.

Top government has become a self serving entity. Though they try and present themselves in a different light, it's become very apparent to anyone with half a brain that they no longer work for "We the People". The Democratic Party has shown this in spades and proved beyond a shadow of a doubt, that they don't give a damn about us.

What they really need is a stern reminder of who they work for and who pays their salaries.
